Leukemia Lymphoma Society Donations

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society seeks donations to support blood cancer research and patient services. My blogging friend, Angela at Mommy PR is helping to raise money on her blog for the Team In Training (TNT) marathon by April 24th. Angela's mother is taking part in the Rock N Roll San Diego Marathon on June 5th and needs to raise $5000. I have a soft spot for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society ever since my sister was diagnosed with Leukemia and died shortly after. I know there is a lot of research left to be done. Being Distracted Didn’t Work

If you saw me online yesterday, I was my normal self - making jokes on Twitter and Facebook, taking part in a Twitter party, writing blog posts, commenting on blog posts. In reality, I was trying to stay distracted from what February 28th means to me. It didn't work. Instead, I cried when no one was looking. I tossed and turned when I went to bed. An Anniversary

I kept myself busy today even though I was very fatigued. I didn't want to focus on the anniversary of what this day is. It's a very sad day for me. It's not only this day either, it's months before and months after. Ten years ago today, my beautiful, funny, sister who had no enemies died from Leukemia. She was only 33, was married and had two children. Her son was just an infant. At first we were told that she would beat this. But the chemo treatments weren't working. She was getting sicker.
