Produce for Kids fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network

Produce for Kids is working with grocery stores nationwide to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. Produce for Kids encourages healthy eating for families. It provides Ideal Meals recipes for parents and information for kids through games and crafts. Their campaign Get Healthy, Give Hope is an annual fundraiser event for the CMN. My daughter, Sammi has been an outpatient of All Children’s Hospital, one of the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, numerous times. We trust the staff completely. She even had her tonsillectomy there as an inpatient. If there’s a way to help them fund … [Read more...]

Walking For Breast Cancer With La Vie de Laurie

My friend Laurie Brosius from La Vie de Laurie is walking the Susan G. Komen 3 Day For The Cure for the second time on next year. She recently took part in the 2009 Dallas Race for the Cure with her husband. She inspires me not only for walking 60 miles in 3 days and 5 Kilometers in a day, but for working throughout the year to raise the $2300 necessary to take part in the 3 Day. Why does she do it? Fundraiser and Movie With PTSO

Tonight Peanut's school PTSO had a fundraiser for All Children's Hospital. We had a Movie and Pizza night. At our last meeting we voted to pay for a field trip for a child whose parents could not afford it. This is happening more and more as the unemployment rate in our county is skyrocketing. We also are planning a … [Read more...]

I always allow her to buy a few books because she loves reading and I want to encourage that to continue, her school makes some money from the sales of the books and because you can never have too many books. The one thing that I don't like about the book fairs in the past few years is that they don't just sell books. They've added school supplies, like pencils, erasers, bookmarks, etc. There's also posters and even computer games. We always go over the list of books and even go online to see what's not listed on the sale sheet. … [Read more...]
