Shhhhhh

Today was Peanut's Award Ceremony for Second Grade. I for once was actually early so I got a good seat to take photos. I sat next to her friend's mom who is very strict with her children, a good role model. She is also overweight and not one to take to other people saying anything rude. She can be quite scary if you cross her. Behind us was a very young mom with two teenage girls. As each teacher announced the children's names, their award (if they received one) and gave them their promotion certificate, most of the families and friends politely applauded for each child. I felt badly for … [Read more...]

Starting Over Again

Today starts a new week - as if you didn't know. But for someone with so many chronic illnesses I sometimes forget them, today is a fresh start. This past week hasn't been so good for me. I've had a lot of issues with fatigue, overly dry eyes and pain. At church today people even commented that I didn't look myself. That's very unusual for me. It's been ages since I've heard that. So I'm going to bed early tonight. Tomorrow I'll get back to my list in my planner. That makes my life feel a bit more organized plus I can prioritize what's really important. If I can't get to the fluff then it's … [Read more...]

Road Trip and My Acceptance

Since Lady Ali is single I'm now allowed to be in her life more. That's fine with me! It's been tough with her being only 90 miles away and only seeing her once every few months. Today Peanut, Mom and I met her for lunch, spent a few hours together and laughed like the whacky people we are. It's nice to see your adult child.....so adult. She's just so self-assured, fun, responsible and well grown up. It's still tough to think about. I really need to accept this fact. I do most of the time (well some of the time) but when I spend time with her again, it all comes back. Life in rewind. … [Read more...]

I’m So Sick and Tired of Being….

Tired all of the time. No matter what I do I'm tired. I sleep 8 - 9 hours a night, take a short nap in the early afternoon, drink some caffine (tea usually) in the morning and get a B-12 shot every 2 weeks. I have an 8 year old that has the energy of two sugar high kiddos. I want a life where I'm not trying to focus on conversations, yawning all the time, feeling like I'm going to fall asleep at the wheel or forget that the stove is on. These autoimmune diseases are enough to kick butt. And they're kicking mine lately. … [Read more...]

Visit to the Rheumy Tomorrow

Going to see my rheumy tomorrow for my B12 shot. Sjogren's has reared its ugly head and I also had to schedule an earlier than normal dentist visit. Even with the Restasis (which I started about 3 months ago)and the tear duct plugs, I'm still using artificial tears like mad. My mouth is so dry that I feel like it's the desert. And my skin is so dry it's actually cracking in places. It's like the other stuff is pretty much under control - ok a bit under control, but the SJ's just doesn't want to let up. Go AWAY! … [Read more...]
