• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Check It Out Now

    December 29th, 2007

    ShawnsBidness Collectibles on eBay

We’re having a sale over at our eBay store ShawnsBidness Collectibles. If you like Disney items, we have them! We’re selling clothing, antenna toppers, hats, lots of Tinker Bell things like plaques, a bookmark, a Christmas ornament and pin set and even two limited edition plaques and of course Mickey Mouse and Disney Vacation Club collectibles.

We also have some die cast cars, vintage photos, sewing patterns, a lot of Quink and Shrip ink bottles with two fountain pens – one is an Esterbrook, and many other products.

We had the honor of being interviewed by Avid Cat, an online store directory. You can check this out here.

We’re leaving for our quick vacation to Disney so we’ll probably return with more things to sell. And hopefully some sales too!

    Page Rank

    November 17th, 2007

Bloggers everywhere are talking about the hit we’ve taken on our Page Rank from the almighty Groogle. I’ve been on a roller coaster ride with my blog for the last three weeks or so. Brain Foggles has always been a zero PR.

But then I got a sudden and very unexpected surprise of a jump to a PR 4. I was scooping up high paying reviews like there was no tomorrow. All I could think of was paying off some bills and being able to pay cash for Christmas this year. But that all suddenly changed.

It actually changed within 2 days. I went from a PR4 to a PR2 and then all the way back to a PR0. I was in a state of shock. When I visited some blogging forums I realized it wasn’t just me. Nope, Groogle had hit lots of bloggers. All I saw was the money I was expecting (oh why didn’t I listen to my dear old Dad?) was going to slip away no matter how hard I worked.

But then I realized something. I’ve come to love blogging. I miss it if I can’t post. I love being able to write my words about my life experiences. I love meeting other bloggers through reading their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, emotions and opinions.

I’ll keep on blogging and yes I’ll keep on reviewing sites, products, samples, other blogs, etc. because we need the extra money. Who doesn’t? I also know that even if money doesn’t come as easy as it did before, it was a very unexpected benefit of blogging.

If I can continue to write about my family, my faith and disABLITITY advocacy I’m a happy camper. So take that Grooggle.

    Working From Home

    November 5th, 2007

I used to have a telecommuting job where I worked from home. It was the most wonderful job in the world. I could have my then baby Peanut home with me while I was nursing her, be able to drive and pick up Lady Ali from school, dress in tee shirts and sweats, go to school meetings, dr. appointments and even do laundry, clean my house (yuck!) and cook dinner.

Unfortunately that company went out of business but that’s the perfect kind of job for me! It’s also the perfect type of job for people with chronic illnesses and disABILITIES, mothers, fathers and caregivers.

There’s a unique opportunity with Courtney Raymond Consultants that offers free training to work as a recruiter from home. You don’t pay a penny to them. They provide the leads you need to be successful.

You may have read about work from home businesses where you have to pay the company first or you pay for training first, not so with this opportunity. This is legit.

What skills do you need to be a recruiter? You do need to be have great phone skills and be able to manage your time well. There won’t be a boss looking over your shoulder. The benefits of being home, having a flexible schedule and the ability to earn money according to the effort you put into your job may make a perfect fit with your life style.

    Move Is Kaput

    October 28th, 2007

So thinking that I couldn’t get a page rank with a blog attached to a website was apparently very wrong! Google gave me a page rank and it is, drum roll….. a 4! What, huh? How can that be? It’s just too much for me to take in.

If I did move my blog to its own domain then I’d be starting from scratch. Which last week sounded just fine. That’s because I had a page rank of zero. But now things are very different. So I’m here to stay.

What I’ll do instead is add a new blog on another domain. I bought the domain name Brain Foggles but I can call my blog whatever my heart desires. I love choices. I love (kind of, for now, maybe) Google and I love paid blogging. Especially now.
