• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Back To School Shopping Done

    August 16th, 2010

Our back to school shopping is done, unless we find out that there’s school supplies we didn’t get that were needed. The new middle school that Sammi will be attending didn’t put out a list of supplies, so we played “guess what a 6th grader will need?”.

But thanks to Staples, we got amazing bargains! I have to admit that this is my first time shopping for Back To School at Staples. I didn’t think the prices at another store could be beat, but they were. Since I signed up for Staples Rewards I get emails with their sale advertisements in advance. I can then compare prices. Plus I get coupons and money back for what I spend.

I also had a $15 Reward check for recycling my printer cartridges. Those add up to a pretty penny. Staples, I think I’ll be doing much more shopping with you! You can follow Staples on Twitter at StaplesTweets and get even more bargains.

T.J. Maxx and Marshalls Back To School Bargains – Giveaway

    August 4th, 2010

T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are smack dab in the middle of their Back To School sales. Whether you’re buying for a college student or a preschooler, you’ll find bargains on clothing, accessories, lunch boxes and even school supply sets. It’s easy to find what you need because all of the merchandise is for the current season and set up by size.

If you’re a regular shopper at T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, you know that their prices are already marked down from retail prices. When there’s clearance prices, you can find amazing bargains! They are called Off-Price stores because they use the buying power of their over 900 stores to negotiate prices and then pass those savings on to us.

I live near Marshalls and it’s one of my favorite places to shop. I know that I’ll always find a good deal every time I visit. This time I looked for clothing for my 11 year old daughter who will be attending middle school in about 3 weeks. This is her first time going to school without uniforms so I’m on the lookout for clothes that will last as well as good prices.

I had $50 to spend and I wanted to make it go far. We focused on tops and found 6 shirts for her as well as a small treat – earplugs for her Nintendo DS and still have money left over!

Take a look at the photos included in my Whrrl to see what was in my local Marshalls:

Elmer’s Bag It Forward Title 1 School #Bagitforward

    July 18th, 2010

I took part in the Elmer’s Bag It Forward project and will donate school items to a Title 1 school in Florida. Thanks to Collective Bias, I was given a stipend to spend on notebooks, pencils, paper, crayons, glue and the the things that children need in public elementary school. Title 1 schools have a population of students who are in the low income category. Their families may not be able to afford school items, uniforms and are more likely to be eligible for free or lunch.

Please take a look at my story and photos on whrrl:
