Conference Bound & Armed with CuVerro Antimicrobial Copper

Ben and I are a few days away from heading out of town for a big conference, so I should be spending my time preparing for our trip. Instead, I'm nursing a household of sick patients again. Ben and Aubrey both have a stomach virus, and Ellie has a viral upper respiratory infection. Oh, the joys of exposure to the public school system. It seems like everyone I talk to right now is either battling something or just getting over something. Our 2 local hospitals are on flu protocol limiting visitors, and doctors' offices are full. And over here you have my kid, the threenager who decided to … [Read more...]

Hasbro Joy For All Companion Pets Provide Companions for the Elderly

Some of my favorite memories with my Papa from my childhood involve us sitting at the kitchen table playing board games. He introduced me to Monopoly and taught me how to manage money through the game. We spent hours playing Yahtzee, and Friday nights with my Grandparents and a Scrabble board extended my vocabulary. My Grandparents had a closet stacked full of Hasbro games, so there was always something to play with my Papa. Hasbro has a tradition of creating great play experiences, and the new Joy For All brand is a wonderful addition to the company. When we weren't playing board games, I … [Read more...]

The Glade Autumn Collection Has Arrived

We are only a few days into September, and I am already rejoicing the changes in the air. The scents of Autumn engulf me as I walk through the yard, past the muscadines, pear tree, and apple trees. We have a multitude of pecans and walnuts hanging on the trees, and my heart just isn't in a Summer place anymore. It's amazing how much has changed in one week. Last Wednesday Ben and I spent the morning selling at the flea market. The humidity was so thick by 10 A.M. we were sweltering and ready to pack up early. Two days later hurricane Hermine graced us with a beautifully cool 74° day without … [Read more...]

Wild Kratts Wild Reptiles Now on DVD

We saw a very large black snake sunning yesterday on the pasture gate. My ever curious 3 year old, Aubrey, wanted to touch it, so Ben held it for her to pet for a few minutes before allowing it to slither away to the barn. 6 year old Ellie wanted to know why the black snake doesn't make noises with it's tail like the Rattlesnake she just watched on her new Wild Kratts Wild Reptiles DVD. A quick walk across the yard to see the horses turned into a science lesson about different types of snakes. That's why I love PBS Kids and the various educational shows that are available on PBS as well as … [Read more...]

Night Night Farm by Amy Parker Review & Giveaway

A new book, Night Night Farm by Amy Parker,  arrived at our house a couple weeks ago, and it has been practically impossible to pry this book from Aubrey's grasp. The thing is, she loves this new book so much it goes everywhere with her. It rides along in her little back pack when we leave the house. She curls up in her mini rocker numerous times a day to "read" it, and of course we have to read this book every night before bedtime. I have even caught her sleeping with it a few times! Needless to say, Night Night Farm has been a huge hit in our house. About the Book: Moo moo, cows! … [Read more...]
