Cut Out Overwhelming Toy Clutter With Pley

What is the one thing that clutters your home the most? For us, it's the massive amount of toys my kids have amassed, especially after the holidays. This wasn't such a big issue when we only had 1 child and a play room. These days we have double the toys, plus the play room had to be converted to a bedroom leaving us with less space for toy clutter. And what's the worst part? My girls don't play with half of the toys they own on a regular basis. By the time we sort through everything they are either no longer interested in the toy we set out to find among the masses, or half the parts have been … [Read more...]

Bright Starts #BabyLOLL Play Date Lots of Fun

[color-box] I received free products in order to host the Bright Starts sponsored Play Date. The opinions expressed here are my own. [/color-box] My girls are growing up way too fast. My 2 year old wants to do whatever her older sister is doing, so I didn't realize just how few "baby" toys we have around here these days. The realization hit me when I was preparing for a friend to bring over her 13 month old, and I thought I would put a basket of toys in the living room he could play with. Unfortunately, most toys aren't cheap, and buying toys can add up to an expensive hit on the wallet. If your kids are anything like mine you probably spend hours begging them to clean their rooms so you can finally see the floors again. My daughter is obsessed with Legos, so I know exactly what it's like to stumble across a minefield of Lego pieces in the middle of the … [Read more...]

Promote Creativity & Educational Play with Magformers Magnetic Blocks

I was provided with Magformers for a review and giveaway. All opinions are my own. Affiliate links included for your convenience.  Do you have kids that love to build things? My girls love any type of building set they can get their hands on. They've even been known to turn all the scrap pieces of wood their Dad leaves in the garage into building blocks, and I love watching their little imaginations come alive as they work on new creations. We had the pleasure of testing out a couple Magformers sets, and I already knew they would be a hit before handing them over to my 6 year … [Read more...]

The Bright Schools Competition Educates Students on Link between Light and Sleep

This content was made possible by VolunteerSpot and the Bright Schools Competition. Does your child get enough sleep at night? Students who don't get enough sleep are more likely to suffer from behavioral issues that can range from rule breaking to more severe problems like depression and anxiety. Children who get the recommended amount of sleep are more creative, perform better in school, and have more self-control. My oldest has battled sleep issues much of her life. She is cranky when she doesn't get enough sleep, and has a really hard time concentrating throughout the day. She is more … [Read more...]
