• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Help Haiti With Cryo-Cell

    February 26th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cryo-Cell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

Cryo-Cell has partnered with Save The Children to help Haiti by donating $25 from every new enrollment. Cryo-Cell stores cord blood from your baby’s umbilical cord and placenta. Cord blood storage is a way to be prepared for possible health issues for your child. If you are an expectant parent or know a woman who is, enrolling with Cryo-Cell is a smart thing to do. It gives you piece of mind.

Cord blood is a rich source of stem cells which can be used as a transplant for the child – a perfect match, or possibly a sibling. Stem cells are a better match than bone marrow. Stem cells are being used to treat over 75 diseases and research is continuing for more health issues.

If you are considering using Cryo-Cell, then please enroll now. The Hope For Haiti program ends February 28th. The $25 donation will go to Hope For Haiti – Save The Children, which is bringing relief to Haiti’s children hurt by the earthquake. An enrollment to Cryo-Cell also makes a perfect gift to expectant parents.

Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving Super Bowl Sunday

    February 4th, 2010

Super Bowl Sunday is often associated with getting buzzed when you party. But remember that buzzed driving is drunk driving. According to the Ad Council and the National Safety Transportation Safety Administration, 1,179 people in other vehicles were killed in 2008 in crashes involving alcohol-impaired drivers during Super Bowl Sunday.

This is an issue that is important to me as I’ve written about it before for New Year’s Eve.

If you are going to drink during the Big Game, have a plan in place:

    • Get a designated driver to get you home
    • Keep the phone number of a taxi company available
    • Learn about the bus or train routes nearby where you’ll be

If you are holding a party:

    • Have designated drivers available
    • Provide places for your party goers to sleep for the night
    • Take the car keys of your friends before they start drinking
    • Call a taxi company in advance to be sure they can drive your guests home
    • Drive your friends yourself

If you’re driving that day drive defensively and wear your seat belt.

To get answers, learn more about how you can help and keep updated, follow Buzzed Driving on Twitter and Buzzed Driving on Facebook.

I received information about this post from Global Influence.

    January 18th, 2010

HotelsCombined.com helps Haiti by using Social Media networking to raise donations to World Vision.  Although this non-profit campaign began before the earthquake in Haiti, World Vision is putting most of its focus on Haiti’s recovery.  If you Tweet about HotelsCombined.com, become a fan of theirs on Facebook or write a blog post about them, they will make a donation to one of three charities – (WWF – World Wildlife Fund, Make A Wish or World Vision).

For Twitter – Please mention “HotelsCombined.com” in the text of your tweet and the non-profit you would like the donation to go towards for a $10 donation.

For Facebook – Become a fan of HotelsCombined.com and write the name of the non-profit you would like the donation to go toward for a donation of $5.

For Blog Post – Let your readers know about HotelsCombined.com and our share about the charity program for a donation of $20. That is a total of $35! Make sure you let us know of your mention by emailing charity@hotelscombined.com so we can add it to the monthly donations!
