I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Everyone Loves To Dance CD Review And Giveaway

    January 9th, 2010

Everyone Loves To Dance is a CD that is geared toward children. Sing and dance along to remixed classics like “The Muffin Man” and “Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes”. Groove to “Rowing In The River” and to “Everyone Loves to Dance” featuring Ziggy Marley. Your children (and you) won’t be sitting for long. This music is geared to get children moving. What a wonderful way to inspire the love of music and exercise all in one.

    Everyone Loves To Dance

The artist, Aaron Nigel Smith, is well known from performing on PBS in the show Between The Lions. His song “My Job” is a big hit from that show. He is also an educator who works with children to teach them about music and movement. “In 2002, he founded FUNdamentals of Music & Movement, a fun approach to music and dance education for children. FUNdamentals has since become the new standard for arts enrichment in Los Angeles, serving thousands of children.” He plays guitar and percussion and sings. He also performs live and can be booked through Great Night Productions.

Take a listen to the 15 songs on Everyone Loves to Dance on Amazon.com Turn it up loud and watch your child smile, laugh and dance!

My Review: Even though this is a children’s CD, my 11 year old daughter loved it and so did I. The reggae influences are easy to hear on many of the songs. Aaron Nigel Smith’s talent is as versified as the various songs on the CD. We loved to hear the children’s giggles included on “We Are The Fishies” and hip hop on “Music and Movement”.  We laughed along and were amazed to hear some old songs that we sang together when Samantha was little turned into new versions. It’s a great CD for at home to get us moving and in the car to get us singing along.

Purchase: Right now Everyone Loves to Dance is temporarily out of stock on Amazon, but you can sign up to be emailed when it comes in. Price is $12.98. You can also purchase it on iTunes for $9.99.

The Activators Review And CD Giveaway – Fitness Fun

    December 13th, 2009

The Activators review and CD giveaway by Brain Foggles:

The Activators are bringing the message of fitness fun to children through their website and their CD which features music to get your child moving and grooving. Working with My Gym, a children’s exercise center, The Activators want to combat childhood obesity by providing a comedy show for children to keep them focused and entertained.

Have your child take The Activators Pledge to exercise everyday, eat healthy foods and have fun too! Watch videos and get to know each of the four Activators, download activity pages and learn exercises that include imaginative play. Aimed at preschoolers, there’s lots of silliness and laughter.

    The Activators

    The Activators

My Review: The Activators are out and out fun. They embody entertainment for children which includes lots of interaction. The best part of this is that children don’t know they are doing something good for their body. The four people that make up the Activators are actually teachers from My Gym who are very talented. Watch them one time and see if you don’t want to get up and move along with them.

Purchase the CD: My Gym Children’s Fitness Center Presents Aaron Nigel Smith Featuring The Activators is available through My Gym online store for $10.

Rockabye Baby Lullaby Review And Giveaway

    December 12th, 2009

Rockabye Baby! Lullaby review and giveaway on Brain Foggles -

A new twist on music to help your child go to sleep, something that parents will enjoy and relax along with their kidlets. Share the gift of “your kind” of music with your children through Rockabye Baby! CDs. Imagine listening to Bob Marley’s I Shot The Sheriff to soothe your baby to sleep. When it’s performed with glockenspiel, vibraphone, mellotron and bells, it’s possible. No vocals, just calming music. Named one of Entertainment Weekly’s 10 Best Books and CD Gifts for Kids you know this is a fantastic gift.

    Rockabye Baby CDs

Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of Bob Marley produced and performed by Marc Chait is one of the newest CD’s available. (10 Tracks)

Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of Guns N’ Roses features Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door and more.(12 Tracks)

My Review: Although it’s nice to listen to new children’s music, it can get old after awhile. Sometimes, depending on the music, it can get annoying too. But when your child asks you to listen “again!” to Rockabye Baby CD’s you’ll be happy to turn that CD on. I grew up listening to Bob Marley and had lots of fun times listening to Guns N’ Roses.  I can still remember the lyrics and hum along quietly while my daughter gets relaxed to some good ole fashioned reggae and rock n’ roll.

Purchase: Visit Rockabye Baby’s store to buy the CD’s. Others available are The Beatles, Queen, Aerosmith, etc. They sell for $16.98. Check out the fashionable onesies and the gift cards to download their favorite 26 tracks. Savings Alert! Get up to 20% off.

Harry Connick Jr. Your Songs Review And Giveaway

    October 10th, 2009

Something different is in the air, just listen – Harry Connick Jr’s new CD Your Songs is more easy listening and a lot less jazzy. His voice is still as beautiful as ever, but don’t expect any ragtime. Instead you’ll hear classics like “Some Enchanted Evening”. Yet, when you want some nice relaxing music in the background for a romantic night perhaps, this fits the bill.

Produced by Clive Davis, Your Songs has a full orchestra and includes featured guests Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis and Bryan Sutton. Harry wrote every orchestration himself also.

Harry Connick Jr Your Songs The CD contains 14 tracks that some young people may not know by name, but are most likely familiar with. After hearing Harry Connick Jr’s version, they will probably become favorites:

    All The Way (Frank Sinatra)
Just The Way You Are (Billy Joel)
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (Elvis Presley)
And I Love Her (The Beatles)
(They Long To Be) Close To You (The Carpenters)
    Besame Mucho
    The Way You Look Tonight
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
    (Roberta Flack)
    Your Song (Elton John)
    Some Enchanted Evening
    And I Love You So
    (Don McLean)
Who Can I Turn To? (Tony Bennett)
    Smile (Charlie Chaplin)
    Mona Lisa (Nat King Cole)

My Review: I was surprised when I first heard this CD. In fact, shocked. This is not the Harry Connick Jr. that I’ve come to know and love, but after a few listens, his voice won me over. I’m not pleased with all of the tracks, especially “Your Song”, but the others have grown on me. I like the real classics like “All The Way” and “Who Can I Turn To?” where I can feel that there’s a connection between Harry and the songs. I like to listen to it as background music, not something that I can sit back and put my full attention on.

To Purchase: You can purchase Your Songs on Amazon.com for $9.99
