• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

On The Cuff Review Mother’s Day Gift Guide Event

    April 30th, 2010

On The Cuff prevents water from running down your arms when you’re washing your face, washing dishes, bathing baby, etc. An unusual idea, but once you use it, you won’t want to live without it. Make your Mom smile this Mother’s Day with On The Cuff!

She’ll wonder what it is, but when she tries it, she’ll probably say, “Why didn’t I think of that?” As Moms we have our hands in water a lot and who wants wet sleeves or wet arms? On The Cuff solves that problem easily.

ON THE CUFF™ – the “one size fits all” design is easy to use and comfortable to wear.

    • The unique stretch material of the cuffs allows you to slip onto your wrists without tearing.
    • Requires snug fit, push cuffs up your arm to tighten if needed.
    • If cuffs get heavily soiled rinse with warm soapy water, squeeze out excess water and allow to dry.

My Review: I have to admit, I thought this was an odd item at first. After using it a few times, I realized the time it saved though. I was a lot less frustrated when doing my every day tasks. I used it when washing those dishes and things I don’t put in the dishwasher, when I cleaned off the counters and when I helped wash my daughter’s long hair. And no wet arms or sleeves. They were easy to pull over my hands and then fit on my arms. I like the mesh bag so to keep them in and dry.

Purchase: Buy a mesh bag with 2 cuffs costs $7.99 online.

This Mother’s Day Gift Guide event has been ongoing throughout April. Please visit to see other reviews and giveaways.

Care4hire is an online database for families and caregivers to search babysitters, housekeepers, tutors, elder/companion care, pet sitters and other miscellaneous service.   A free preview of available caregivers is available to families.  A membership to Care4hire would make a useful Mother’s Day gift and would make Mom very happy!

Top 10 List for Hiring a Babysitter

    1. The babysitter should be able to relate easily and bond well with your children while maintaining a clear distinction from them. Babysitters must be able to play with and enjoy your children while also maintaining discipline.

    2. The babysitter must be able to relate with your family and administer discipline to your children in a manner that is appropriate and consistent with your family’s boundaries.

    3. The babysitter should ideally have years of experience, solid references from prior employer-families, a clean background (pursuant to background checks), and completed training on babysitter basics (CPR, first aid, the Heimlich maneuver, basic nutrition and food preparation, and general personal and home hygiene). You can obtain background checks through Care4hire.com.

    4. If you need your babysitter to drive, then your babysitter should have a valid driver’s license, a clean (or as close to clean as possible) driving record and a reliable car.

    5. The babysitter should be able to develop and carry out fun, creative, and educational experiences for your child.

    6. The babysitter should be willing and able to comply with your rules for him or her.

    7. The babysitter should be capable of handling small “crises” on his/her own.

    8. The babysitter and you should agree to terms of employment in advance of beginning work.

    9. The babysitter should not have fears or concerns about the non-negotiable aspects of the job with your family, for example extra hours.

    10. The babysitter should be a positive, loving influence in your household.
