• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Doterati Blog Marketing Demystified

    September 25th, 2009

IzeaFest is next week. On the day of the Howl O’Scream, I’ll be on the blogger’s panel of Blog Marketing Demystified held by doterati. This is the Blogging Meets Marketing event on October 1st in Orlando, Florida.

    doterati

There is often a disconnect between bloggers and marketers. As a blogger I am often sent stock emails asking me to write blog posts without any form of compensation. I am sometimes at a loss at how to contact marketers for which I would make a very good sponsor. Some marketers aren’t aware of the wealth of blogging as an advertising campaign.

This event will bring bloggers and marketers together to begin conversations, increase the learning curve and bridge the gap. I along with Lisa Martin from MyThoughtsIdeasandRamblings.com and Steven Sanders from Steven Sanders.com will form the Bloggers panel. The marketers behind Massey Communications will be the Marketing panel. I suggest that those of you who are in the Orlando area, especially those of you there for IzeaFest attend.

    When:

    • Thursday, October 1st

    Panel Discussion

    • 1pm-4pm

    Cocktails and Networking

    • 4pm – 5:30pm

Attendees receive one free drink ticket for cocktail hour following panel discussion.

IZEAFest attendees headed to Howl O’Scream, will board bus at 6 pm.

    Where:

    • Renaissance Orlando Hotel at Sea World
      6677 Sea Harbor Drive

    Poken High Four

    September 7th, 2009

Have you heard of Poken yet? If not, you’re not alone. But get ready to learn about Poken and how to high four other people because soon you’ll be hearing about them at the next conference or Tweet Up you attend.

A Poken is like a digital business card. But your Poken information will contain a lot more than you can include on a business card. Think your photo, blog, Facebook , Twitter, LinkedIn URL’s and more. When you get your Poken, plug it into your USB port where you’ll be taken to a website that can set up your Poken account. You can even use the DoYouPoken.com website to chat with your Poken buddies!

Then take your Poken with you everywhere. You’ll never know when you’ll meet up with someone that you want to network with. Having your Poken on you (you’ll get a free lanyard with your Poken from PokenGirl) can start up conversations too.

All you need to do is “high four” another Poken – just tap them against each other – and your information is exchanged. It’s that easy! And all for under $20. Click on the banner below to get yours. Get another one to share and get your Poken on!

I learned about Greg from my friend the Famous Blogger, Murray Newlands.  Murray is the real thing and can be trusted to give me the advice I need to be a better blogger and earn the money I need and some extra too. I’m not too shy to say that I have a lot to learn even though I’ve been blogging for over 2 years now. Having that kind of attitude and seeking out learning opportunities just like the Under 30 Rock Star Business Series, is the only way to keep improving. And for people starting out or stuck in a rut, getting all the info you can get your hands on is the way to go.

This course has so much to offer that I can’t fit it on one blog post. Check out all you’ll get for the low price of $97. How can you put a price on turning your career around?

    ConnieFoggles Online Business Card

    August 24th, 2009

Before I left for the Affiliate Summit East, I wanted to have a website that would link to all of my blogs and provide a short biography of me. I decided to call it ConnieFoggles Online Business Card. I’m not a designer in any sense of the word so I needed someone who could create what I wanted.

I ended up having issues with a domain that I purchased and the work on this was done at the very last minute, but Loretta Oliver gave it her all. She worked until late at night making changes so that I’d have this Online Business Card ready for when I arrived in New York City. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

Before I got to the design part though, I needed to have my biography written. I’ve written “About” pages for my blogs, but the information included was more about the blogs then about myself. I’ve tried to write a bio before, but it was a mess. Thankfully Jennifer Leet of The Dirty TShirt and I worked together on what was important to include in a bio and what to leave out. I learned a great deal from talking with her and we became instant friends. Her About Me page is like my Online Business Card.
