A magnetic sign made by BuildASign.com on your vehicle will definitely draw attraction. I decided to advertise my blog as I drive around town. With an eye catching design, there’s no better way to get people to look and then plug my site url into their smart phone. I’m using this as a new way to market my blog.

It was easy to customize my own sign on their site. I chose to use a template and then add the text I wanted along with an image from the header of my blog. You can chose to make your own signs from scratch too. Help is just a click or phone call away if you need it.

BuildASign provides all types of items for promoting your business, banners, sandwich boards, bumper stickers, vinyl decals and lettering and window clings. Besides advertising, BuildASign can help you celebrate birthdays, graduations and reunions. Don’t forget about holidays and sports teams.

Making your own signs should be easy and BuildASign makes sure the process runs smoothly and the product turns out amazing.

This post was written for Family Review Network and BuildASign.com who provided the complimentary product for review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Bloggers need to market their work and their brand in order to compete with the many other bloggers out there in the interwebs. It seems that every day a new blogger pops up and the competition grows more. What if you could run your own social marketing campaign by using an email address?

Say you have a newsletter. Of course you have email addresses from your subscribers. Just enter those email addresses into Flowtown and you’ll learn the name, age, gender, location and social networking profiles of your subscribers. No need to spend time on surveys. Plus you can target your campaigns where your readers are. You can also target your posts to what they need to learn.

Imagine doing Twitter Marketing or Facebook promotion the right way the first time without any trials. This is especially important when you are doing affiliate marketing and want to sell a particular product andor target a series of blog posts. With to Flowtown this is possible.

This post was brought to you by the folks at Flowtown.

My guest post on Cindi’s blog Moomette’s Musings got my week off to a great start. Cindi, who offers blogging resource tips, had asked me to write a guest post about 6 months ago. I put it off more often than I won giveaways and contests! But, being the patient and kind person she is, she allowed me to send her my write up when I asked her late last month. When my post was up and I read it, I realized that I sure can write a lot! It was fun to share about myself and the positive comments I received did my confidence good. Cindi helped me realize that being a guest blogger is worth it and I’m ready to do it again.

Courtney Velasquez from Digital Moms surprised me by adding one of product reviews to her Favorite Posts of 2009. Very nice to be included with inspirational bloggers. I also entered two posts in Christine Brandt’s Product Review Carnival on Atomic Mama and both were accepted! OK, enough or my head’s going to explode.

Take advantage of guest posts, answering questions on forums and entering your posts for carnivals. It’s all good exposure and promotion.

I’ve been chosen as a Soft Scrub Captain. Only 200 bloggers were chosen and I was one of them. I’m very excited that I will represent the Soft Scrub brand, one that I use in my home. I’ll be one of the first to receive and review new products from Soft Scrub.

To become a Soft Scrub Captain, I completed an application and was “hand picked” to share my opinions on my blog, by vlogging, on Twitter, on Facebook and other social media sites. As soon as I receive my first product, I’ll put up my review. You know you’ll be getting authentic and honest reviews from me as usual.

For now, I’d like to share a coupon for $1 off Scrubby Pads. Thank you to Soft Scrub for choosing me as a Captain.

This post is not compensated.

As this year is coming to an end I look back on what to be thankful for as well as look forward to what I want to change for the better. When I saw GrowMap’s Thankful Meme, I thought this would be a good way to help me to thank those in my blogging community who have helped me grow as a blogger.

This is what Gail wrote:

I am thankful for all the generous bloggers who actively collaborate with us. These five have been most influential:

Derek Semmler – (DerekSemmler) – the WordPress Ninja who installs and maintains Thesis and the plugins on all our joint venture blogs and provides technical support and answers for us and many others who have requested his assistance. Without Derek, our NoBogies golf store and the Holiday Gift Ideas and gift affiliate program I manage for my favorite Personalized Gifts Store would not exist.

Murray Newlands – (MurrayNewlands) – Expert on Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing and Social Media Marketing – If you are serious about blogging Murray offers Expert Blog Consulting Services and offers tips on Blogger Outreach. Interested in collaborating? You may be interested in our new Blog Club.
Search Friendly Web Design – (SearchFriendly) – Sammy specializes in SEO friendly Web design and WordPress. He originally installed and still advises and assists with this blog.

Good Millwork – (GoodMillwork) – The folks at Good Millwork could be the poster folks for using blogs and Social Networking to raise visibility for traditional offline businesses. We learn as much from them as they learn from us. If you ever need any exterior shutters or architectural moldings including crown moldings for your house or business check them out. If you’re a business in Florida or a dofollow blogger be sure to add them to your list of great blogs to visit.

We will share many more in the near future because collaborating is be key to blogging success. If you haven’t read the exceptional recent guest post How Guest Blogging Can Change Your Life by Greg Rollett of Rock Star Lifestyle Design we encourage you to read it now.

I am especially thankful for the dofollow bloggers who recognize that it is so much easier to reciprocate automatically and the genius of creators of CommentLuv and KeywordLuv. Watch for a new post about the many dofollow bloggers we know. We are actively researching and reaching out to dofollow bloggers and making Twitter dofollow blog lists.

We want to include your dofollow blog – let us know in the comments or at Twitter if you’re not on the list!

This Thankful Meme is the perfect excuse for you to write about what you are grateful for and to share some link love with those bloggers who have increased your knowledge, shared their skills, entertained and cared. I hope you’ll get involved. If you link to this post I’ll see your links and add you to one or more future Thankful posts.

Here are the bloggers I am grateful to and why:

Daneka Soudak of Adsmarket who offers some of the best affiliate offers and provides relevant information about affiliate programs, who gave me the opportunity to write a guest post.

Kikoni, of Kikolani.com, who shares about the best of blogging. I am learning so much by reading her blog.

Murray Newlands, of MurrayNewlands, who is providing me with a means to write about connecting advertisers and bloggers and provides me with blog consulting.

Cindi of Mommettes Magnificents, who provides tips for work at home moms and shares her product reviews, who is always willing to decipher my questions about blogging and Twitter.

Heather Kephart of Happymaking, whose humor is enough to keep me reading her blog. Just check out The Universe Speaks To Me to get an idea of how much you’ll laugh.
DiTesco, the Internet Business Entrepeneur of Blog Zone, who writes a Weekly Echo post where he shares his favorite posts and gives out lots of linky love.

IzeaFest is next week. On the day of the Howl O’Scream, I’ll be on the blogger’s panel of Blog Marketing Demystified held by doterati. This is the Blogging Meets Marketing event on October 1st in Orlando, Florida.

There is often a disconnect between bloggers and marketers. As a blogger I am often sent stock emails asking me to write blog posts without any form of compensation. I am sometimes at a loss at how to contact marketers for which I would make a very good sponsor. Some marketers aren’t aware of the wealth of blogging as an advertising campaign.

This event will bring bloggers and marketers together to begin conversations, increase the learning curve and bridge the gap. I along with Lisa Martin from MyThoughtsIdeasandRamblings.com and Steven Sanders from Steven Sanders.com will form the Bloggers panel. The marketers behind Massey Communications will be the Marketing panel. I suggest that those of you who are in the Orlando area, especially those of you there for IzeaFest attend.

Have you heard of Poken yet? If not, you’re not alone. But get ready to learn about Poken and how to high four other people because soon you’ll be hearing about them at the next conference or Tweet Up you attend.

A Poken is like a digital business card. But your Poken information will contain a lot more than you can include on a business card. Think your photo, blog, Facebook , Twitter, LinkedIn URL’s and more. When you get your Poken, plug it into your USB port where you’ll be taken to a website that can set up your Poken account. You can even use the DoYouPoken.com website to chat with your Poken buddies!

Then take your Poken with you everywhere. You’ll never know when you’ll meet up with someone that you want to network with. Having your Poken on you (you’ll get a free lanyard with your Poken from PokenGirl) can start up conversations too.

All you need to do is “high four” another Poken – just tap them against each other – and your information is exchanged. It’s that easy! And all for under $20. Click on the banner below to get yours. Get another one to share and get your Poken on!

I’ve been working on my own personal branding for a while now. Every time I think I get it, I doubt myself. Greg even shares the secret of how he landed Coca-Cola as a 24 year old marketing consultant!

I learned about Greg from my friend the Famous Blogger, Murray Newlands. Murray is the real thing and can be trusted to give me the advice I need to be a better blogger and earn the money I need and some extra too. I’m not too shy to say that I have a lot to learn even though I’ve been blogging for over 2 years now. Having that kind of attitude and seeking out learning opportunities just like the Under 30 Rock Star Business Series, is the only way to keep improving. And for people starting out or stuck in a rut, getting all the info you can get your hands on is the way to go.

This course has so much to offer that I can’t fit it on one blog post. Check out all you’ll get for the low price of $97. How can you put a price on turning your career around?

Before I left for the Affiliate Summit East, I wanted to have a website that would link to all of my blogs and provide a short biography of me. I decided to call it ConnieFoggles Online Business Card. I’m not a designer in any sense of the word so I needed someone who could create what I wanted.

I ended up having issues with a domain that I purchased and the work on this was done at the very last minute, but Loretta Oliver gave it her all. She worked until late at night making changes so that I’d have this Online Business Card ready for when I arrived in New York City. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

Before I got to the design part though, I needed to have my biography written. I’ve written “About” pages for my blogs, but the information included was more about the blogs then about myself. I’ve tried to write a bio before, but it was a mess. Thankfully Jennifer Leet of The Dirty TShirt and I worked together on what was important to include in a bio and what to leave out. I learned a great deal from talking with her and we became instant friends. Her About Me page is like my Online Business Card.

There were so many people that I had the pleasure to meet at the Affiliate Summit East in New York that I need another post to write about them and thank them. Now that I’ve been bitten by the conference bug, I’m really working at social networking and learning more about SEO and of course affiliate marketing. Thanks to the people I’ve met, I’m on my way.

Here’s a photo of me with with @BenSpark, @Laurie_Pooh, @CorrinRenee, me, @HeatherinBC and @BrettBumm. I was the “Honorary Izea Insider” for the day! It was so nice to learn that everyone was just as real in person as they are on their blogs.

I also met a wonderful woman, Kim Ann Curtin, who is a Certified Life Coach at The Coach Shoppe. We spent some time together talking about what I do as a a blogger. She offered to do a free coaching session for me. I learned so much in about ten minutes. She also was kind enough to buy some cupcakes from the Magnolia Bakery. I can still taste it!

I also met Shawn Collins, Co-Founder of the Affiliate Summit Conference. He was kind enough to answer one of my questions after being asked about a million others. He is truly a caring person. When I told Heather about what he did, she ran and got her X-shot to take a photo of us together.

Of course there were so many other people that I met along the way. I will be going through all of the business cards I got to connect with them. A huge thank you of course, goes out to my sponsor, Murray Newlands, the Affiliate Marketing and Social Media Marketing Blogger. Without his blog competition I wouldn’t have been able to attend. He was like a big brother (although, much younger than me!) who was sure that I met people, was comfortable, got to learn what I needed and even saved me from a stalker. I still can’t believe that I didn’t get a photo with him.
