• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Custom Cork Board Review and Giveaway – Back To School

    September 1st, 2010

Think cork boards are old school? Not any more with custom printed cork boards by Profiled Products. And for a tween that needs help with her organizing school this works wonders for Back To School. This is my daughter, Sammi’s first year of having multiple teachers with different teaching plans. Her homework and tests are fall on different days of the week for each class and the expectations of her teachers are quite different.

Sammi is responsible for keeping her school work in order and knowing when things are due. This is necessary in middle school. Although she uses an online calendar, she needs a second and sometimes a third reminder. The Profiled Products cork board comes in handy to keep her on target.

After trying to do lists as reminders, she realized she needed one place to keep track of her lists. Since the cork board is so attractive, she can’t help but look at it and the lists as well as the calendar on it. She’s able to cross off what’s she’s accomplished and plan ahead for what needs to be done.  Sammi chose the Panda Bear cork board because she likes animals. It is just beautiful and life-like. The corkboard is sized 18 x 24, has metal hooks and is light yet sturdy. The image is throughout the entire surface and has a metal border.

You can also create your own cork board with a photo or image. Those with school pride can upload an image of their school logo. Profiled Products helps you along the way with the process of choosing a photo or image that will look perfect on your cork board.

Glade Fragrance Collection Soy Candle Review And Giveaway

    August 21st, 2010

Glade has a Fragrance Collection that is quite popular. The Soy Candles come in a pretty glass jar that you’ll be proud to use as both a decorative item in your home as well as a means to create a mood. Need to feel calm after a long day? Want a romantic night? Want to be refreshed?  The Fragrance by Glade fits all these bills.

The Lemongrass and Citrus fragrance by Glade is a warm fragrance that can invigorate and revitalize you. The undertones of citrus are just right. The large 10 oz. candle burns up to 35 hours because of its size and because it is soy based.

My Review: I used the Fragrance Collection by Glade candle in my den where I sometimes work. The scent is one of my favorites as it’s not like perfume. The fragrance lasted a long time. I like the triple wick, but sometimes I only used one wick. I liked the way the mood in the room was changed when I turned off the light and let the three wicks go. I felt relaxed and calm. I would like to see the glass jar with the label all around or no label at all.

Buy It: You can purchase any of the Fragrance Collection by Glade candles in almost any store for $9.99 AVP.

Giveaway: One lucky reader will win One Glade Fragrance Collection Candle.

Samsung Night of Wonder Event BlogHer 2010

    August 15th, 2010

Samsung held a Night of Wonder event on August 5th, the night before BlogHer 2010. It focused around their home appliances and was held at the Samsung Experience store at the Time Warner Building in New York City. I was honored to attend the reception which included a short talks by James Politeski, Vice President of Home Appliance Sales and Marketing and Kurt Jovais- Director of Samsung Home Appliances.

The Samsung representatives were very accommodating as I and other a few other bloggers arrived late. They held off the talks until everyone had arrived and since dinner was being held after, I know that made things difficult for everyone. Thank you Samsung for understanding that other events were being held earlier and that it took time to get from one place to the other.

Besides the good company, the lovely food and the information I received, I had the chance to look over all of the appliances thoroughly. Even though things were running late, we still had time to ask questions and make suggestions.

Here’s some information about the appliances I saw, touched, learned about and want to own (All are Energy Star Rated, expect for the range because ranges are not rated):

Samsung Four Door Refrigerator (RF4287) – The fourth door is the drawer that is counter high. It has an adjustable divider and temperature controls. The refrigerator is large capacity and has shelves that are adjustable. You can fit gallon size milk and juice bottles on the doors.

Samsung High Capacity Washer and Dryer (WF520/DV520): The washer has the largest capacity in the industry. The PowerFoam technology creates foam by dissolving detergent with air and water, which makes washing faster. The Dryer uses a steam technology which reduces wrinkles. Save time by washing and drying faster with large loads (up to 31 towels).

Samsung Dishwasher (DMT800): The Stormwash system includes the heavy duty spray jets and the wheel on the bottom rack, which deep cleans the dirtiest of dishes, pots and pans. No need to pre-rinse! The upper rack is adjustable and the tines can be removed.

Samsung Freestanding Induction Range (FTQ307): Induction cooking is fast! You can boil water up to 50% faster than with an electric range. After use, the range top cools off quickly so you can clean up faster. The convection oven also cooks faster and more evenly. There is a warming drawer and a delay start feature.

My take on the Samsung appliances is that they are made to save time and energy. They have innovative features that make housework seem less like a chore and I’d love to re-do my kitchen and laundry room with all of them!

Take a look at my Whrrl from the Samsung event which includes some photos:

I attended the Samsung Night of Wonder reception. I did not receive any compensation for this post, nor was I asked to write it. I wanted to share it because I believe the appliances are fantastic!

    Cyber Clean Review And Giveaway

    June 30th, 2010

Cyber Clean is a high-tech cleaning compound that can be used for electronics, toys, phones and many items around your home. It is a putty that removes germs, dirt, dust, lint and more.

Cyber Clean Home and Office can be used on:

    • Computer Keyboards
    • Heater Vents
    • Remote Controls
    • Computer Mouse
    • Telephones

    • Hair Dryer Vents
    • Toys

Cyber Clean can be re-used again and again. There is a window in the package to determine if you need to replace it (the color will change as it picks up dirt).

My Review: When I opened the package of Cyber Clean I was surprised at the feel of it. It reminded me of those goo toys. I realized that my daughter won’t mind cleaning with this because it’s like playing. I used it to clean my laptop keyboard, my remote control, my phone and my blow dryer. I couldn’t believe what was picked up by Cyber Clean. After using it, the items looked and felt much cleaner.
