• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Get Out Of House Free Card

    November 7th, 2008

I’m free! My doctor gave me a Get of the House Free card today. So finally I was able to go out without fear of getting sicker. I did get my flu shot and was told that the fatigue is normal because it takes me longer to get well after any type of sickness. I’ve heard this about a million times, so you think I’d finally get it. But, being me, I have to try to push myself and fall asleep at the wheel one hundred and ten times, then hear the doctor tell me that.

I did do my mini celebration after my appointment. I decided to treat myself to a sandwich at Subway and then I went shopping at Walmart. I did a lot of shopping, too much shopping. Pushing the cart and walking so much wore me out. I really needed a pair of Dansko shoes I should have used one of the scooters at the store.

After all of this, I still had to pick up Peanut from school and then go to my Mom’s house to help her with her new cell phone. By the time I came home, I ended up falling asleep for two hours. I’m still exhausted. When will I learn?

But all in all, it was great getting out the house finally.

    Getting Out Of The House

    November 6th, 2008

I’ve been pretty much stuck in my house again because I’ve been sick. It’s not a smart idea for me to be around people when I’m fighting a cold and on antibiotics because I’m apt to get something a lot worse. Since I didn’t get my flu shot yet either, then it made it even more necessary to stay home. Plus I’m still feeling very sleepy and weak.

Tomorrow I go to the my primary doctor for a regular checkup but I can also have her see what is going on with me and determine if I can get the flu shot now. I hope she sets me free from my house bound state so I don’t lose my mind. If I’m set free, one of the first things I want to do is go shopping. Hubby has been wonderful as always throughout all of this, but I like to use my coupons and actually look at prices when I shop. We need so many groceries and paper products, etc. I know when I buy things we’ll be saving money.

The next thing I’d like to do is to get something to eat at a restaurant somewhere. I haven’t decided where yet, but I just want to sit down and order some food and be around people. I really wish we could afford to go away somewhere like to the Outer Banks or Disney but we can’t. Hopefully on Veteran’s Day, we can do something for a few hours together and celebrate my getting out of the house.

    What A Sick Halloween

    November 1st, 2008

Peanut got sick on Wednesday night with a stomach bug. She had a rough night and wasn’t able to sleep much with needing to use the bathroom most of the night. She ended up staying home from school Thursday and Friday because she still felt sick to her stomach and couldn’t eat much. This left her feeling weak and just plain yucky.

I knew she was really sick when I asked her about going out trick or treating. She said that she didn’t know if she felt well enough and maybe she should just go to two houses and be driven there. That settled it for me in making my decision to keep her home from school on Friday.

And that’s just what she did. Hubby drove her to a good friend’s house and to my Mom’s house. Then he did get her to walk to a few houses close to our home for about 10 minutes. That’s all she could handle.

Since Thursday I’ve been back to sleeping most of the day. I blamed it on being up with Peanut on Wednesday night, but I’m still feeling horrible. I’m still on antibiotics and not feeling like I’m getting any better. I don’t even have much energy for blogging. Sorry if I haven’t visited your blogs and left comments. As soon as I"m back to feeling better I will.

    Sleeping Sickness

    October 23rd, 2008

Yesterday I woke up and felt horrible. I had a sore throat and a terrible headache. But what was worst of all was that I couldn’t stay awake. I had been sick like this before but never to this degree.

This time I’d be sleeping but think I was awake. When I’d actually wake up, I’d lose my bearings because I thought the dream I was having was in real life because I wasn’t sleeping.

Thank goodness I was too tired to do anything about it, because I’d be kayaking, carrying large antique vessels, writing a book for a publisher, jumping into very deep water off of a cliff and running away from a fox. Those were just a few of the weird dreams I had yesterday. The funny thing was that I’d dream as soon as I closed my eyes. It didn’t take long for me to get into a deep sleep.

I swore I wouldn’t sleep last night, but that was no problem at all. I slept all night. The last dream I had before waking up this morning (and still feeling horrible) is that I was giving away the prize to my Sittercity Contest.

I did call my Primary Care Doctor to see about getting a prescription because I’ve been sick too long (I had a stomach virus last week too). We’ll see what she decides to do. I’m off to bed now to get more sleep.
