• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    The Recovery Zone

    May 1st, 2009

Antibiotics rock! We are all recovering due to them. I didn’t even have to call the Pediatrician about Peanut’s infected gland on her neck because the swelling went down this morning. Hubby and I aren’t coughing as much and our throats feel so much better.

I was able to get a few things done around the house today including some laundry. I also sat at the kitchen table with Peanut and helped her get some of her homework done. She has a lot to catch up since being out of school for 8 days.

My Mom came for a short visit and we made our hotel reservations for Lady Ali’s wedding. We already have our flight done. Now I need to start looking for my dress. I’ve been looking online for some ideas too. Things are looking up.

    Transforming Family

    March 15th, 2009

I don’t know one family that is perfect, that doesn’t go through their days with one issue or another. It’s that way with my family. There are problems that we face, some serious, that nag away at us. We are fortunate that we have the ability to take advantage of counseling, medical help, school guidance counselors, etc.

With my health problems, there is a great deal of stress that we face every day. I have been sick for six years now. Our youngest daughter is ten. So imagine how this has affected her. We have done everything in our power to reach out for assistance, but things still linger.

When Family Review Network gave me the opportunity to talk with Tracy Liebmann, a Life Coach, I decided that this could add to the information we have received so far. I wanted to focus on myself and my feelings as a mother with Tracy.

Transforming Family is Tracy’s website. It provides background information about her and a detailed explanation about life coaching. Tracy writes:

Coaching is an investment in oneself. When you hire me to be your coach you are sending a very important message to yourself. You value yourself and your family enough to invest in a process that will help you realize your vision more quickly.

My half-hour session was Tracy was so peaceful, yet so inspiring. It was very easy to speak to Tracy. She has a gift of making you feel comfortable and helping you to open up. Although it was my first time speaking with her and I was a bit reluctant to go into detail about my problem, in short order I was able to verbalize just what was bothering me. I was shocked because before speaking with her, I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what that was. Through her questions I was able to identify that I even knew the answer to my problem. I had spoken the words but glossed over them. Tracy repeated those words to me and my mind was open to new ideas.

Transforming Family provides a free newsletter written by Tracy, information about her coaching by phone, group coaching and cyber coaching, articles and resources. You can also request a free half-hour session with Tracy. I highly recommend it.

    The Price Isn’t Right

    March 12th, 2009

After my birthday celebration at Disney yesterday I’m feeling a bit like I have a hangover. No, there was no alcoholic beverages of any kind (I wish). But the drive there and back did it for me. My Mom and I shared the driving but I couldn’t nap while she drove as she didn’t know how to get to Disney on her own. I didn’t walk that much, but the little I did plus the driving did me in.

This morning I could barely get out of bed. I knew I had to get Peanut off to school so I got myself together. She was really good about getting herself ready for school and helping out to be sure she was on time. When I drove her she chattered away about what was going on at school today.

carbingoOn the way home I found myself having trouble staying awake. It’s only about a five minute drive, but I was afraid I’d doze off that’s how bone tired I was. I kept my eyes on the road and made a game of watching the cars go by. I counted the small cars, the vans, the SUVs and I even saw a DIRECTV truck and a small pick up carrying a lawn mower. I felt like I was playing car bingo, but it did the trick. When I got home, I ate a small breakfast and went back to bed for a few hours.

    My Aching Feet

    February 26th, 2009

I am not that much into fashion, but I do love shoes. Since being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and then with Morton’s Neuroma I can only wear certain types of shoes. No more heels, narrow toed shoes or shoes without a back, like flip flops.

Because I live in Florida, sandals are the type of shoes that are comfortable to wear so that your feet are not closed up. It’s so hard to find sandals with backs though. I just love sandals of all types and look everywhere for something that I can wear that doesn’t look like I’m wearing old lady shoes. If I buy sandals with backs that I like, I’ll buy one in every color.

I also have to wear sneakers and good walking shoes that have padding to keep my feet comfortable. So my choices of what to wear has gone down considerably. But I try my best to find shoes that are not only good for me, but look good. I love unique looking shoes, great colors and the styles that catch my eye.

keen_sneaker I found a shoe that is a mixture of a sneaker and a sandal. One of the Keen shoes, Arroyo II is well supported and open to keep my feet dry. The color, Driftwood has some pink highlights in the webbing. Now that’s my kind of shoe.

Although I have health problems, I try to make the best of it. I follow the rules but find ways to keep myself happy. I know that there are people that have it much worse off than I do. Not being able to wear any kind of shoe I want isn’t fun, but at least I can walk. And I can find shoes that aren’t expensive and make me feel like I have a style all my own. I just have to look a bit harder to find them.
