• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Staying Healthy And Well

    March 8th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of wellnessdaily.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

Staying healthy and well is an ongoing goal that takes time and work, something that busy moms don’t have.
I’ve tried to lose weight without support and it’s tough. Trying to find an exercise program that will work for me without the proper information didn’t work. When I got together with other moms years ago and worked with a Physical Therapist one on one I was able to reach my goals. Those days are long gone though and I need something online to inspire me, to hook me up with people that are working on the same issues and to provide the tools I need to keep track of my progress.

There’s an online community to help you with this though. Visit www.wellnessdaily.com to get resources to maintain your health and/or get started on a plan to get healthy. If you are one of the first 25,000 to sign in, you are eligible for a $5 rebate for a specific healthy product. There’s also a Twitter contest with a prize package which includes coupons for a year-long supply of Jennie-O Turkey Store product and a one-year gym membership, valued at $1,250. Here’s a suggested tweet: “Enter to win $ towards a gym membership & JENNIE-O turkey products. Just follow @wellness_daily & RT this! http://bit.ly/tbd123″

    Radiation And My Mom

    March 3rd, 2010

My mom started radiation yesterday. On Monday she went in thinking that she was going to get started instead it was another “fitting”, which she went through previously. I don’t understand it and neither does she, but all I know is that she came out crying because she had to hold her arms up for a long time. It hurt and she thought this is what she would be going through every day.

As I hugged her and tried to comfort her, I thought the same thing and was concerned for her and sad. The office was closing as she was the last patient, I was busy with her and wasn’t able to ask the nurses if this is what she would be expecting every day.

When we went yesterday, we went a bit earlier and learned that she’d only be getting radiation for about 10 minutes. It wasn’t going to be a long process each time. Relieved, we decided to get into a routine since she’ll be going through this every day for 6 weeks. We’re going to try to go to lunch either before or after and maybe get some shopping in too. Definitely going to chat and have some fun.

I’m going to surprise her with some frilly eye masks as she’s using a washcloth now to cover her eyes. Anything to help my mom cope with radiation.

    Help Haiti With Cryo-Cell

    February 26th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cryo-Cell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

Cryo-Cell has partnered with Save The Children to help Haiti by donating $25 from every new enrollment. Cryo-Cell stores cord blood from your baby’s umbilical cord and placenta. Cord blood storage is a way to be prepared for possible health issues for your child. If you are an expectant parent or know a woman who is, enrolling with Cryo-Cell is a smart thing to do. It gives you piece of mind.

Cord blood is a rich source of stem cells which can be used as a transplant for the child – a perfect match, or possibly a sibling. Stem cells are a better match than bone marrow. Stem cells are being used to treat over 75 diseases and research is continuing for more health issues.

If you are considering using Cryo-Cell, then please enroll now. The Hope For Haiti program ends February 28th. The $25 donation will go to Hope For Haiti – Save The Children, which is bringing relief to Haiti’s children hurt by the earthquake. An enrollment to Cryo-Cell also makes a perfect gift to expectant parents.

    Compare Mobility Aids

    February 2nd, 2010

When making a large purchase for mobility aids it helps to have a website where you can compare prices. Most often people go to one store and buy from there. The main reasons are that if you are mobility impaired it is difficult to get around, tiring and frustrating. If you are a caregiver most often you are buying items quickly because you are preparing for your loved one to return home or you are leaving them at home while you’re shopping.

By using Mobility Compare, you can compare prices of bathing aids, mobility scooters and stair lifts online. No need to leave your home, just decide on the item you need, fill out the details and get the prices emailed to you.
