I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Wake Up! It’s Eggo Real Fruit Pizza Time! Giveaway Too!

    July 21st, 2010

I’m a night owl and so is my daughter Sammi. She is going to be starting middle school this year, out of our school zone, about 15 miles away. I’ll have to wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast with her and drive her. Instead of rushing around in my pj’s after I was finally able to wake up her up after the 8th time, helping her get her school stuff ready, while I signed homework, got her lunch packed and got her off to school these past 6 years of elementary school.

Now I’m going to actually have a morning routine. A routine that works and lessens stress for both of us. That’s where Eggo Real Fruit Pizza comes in. In the microwave one of these delicious fruit pizza only takes 1.5 minutes. And when you mix the words “fruit” and “pizza” together, I actually get a normally picky eater to smile. Here’s some of the rules I’m going to use for our morning routine:

    1. Same bedtime and wake up time every day for both of us. It helps your body to get into a sleep routine when it knows what to expect. When someone has insomnia, they are often taught “sleep hygiene” which includes this bedtime and wake up time routine.

    2. Both of us will have alarm clocks. My daughter needs to learn to wake up on her own since she’s getting older. And I admit that I need a backup for my alarm clock. I’ve been known to do things like shut off the alarm instead of hitting the snooze button or sleeping through the alarm all together.

    3. Eat a healthy breakfast. This helps keep you awake and alert during the day. Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas are healthy. They are made with real fruit and granola.

    4. Prepare everything the night before. No more signing homework or finding out that I need to write a check for a school event in the morning. My daughter’s back pack will be closed up with all items completed before bedtime. I’ll have her lunch ready in the fridge the night before and the breakfast table set. We’ll both have our clothes ready the night before also.

    5. Rewards for getting the routine down pat. As we both work toward this new event in our lives, Sammi starting middle school and gaining more independence, and my making our mornings more peaceful, we can celebrate our successes. One reward I won’t be using is staying up late or sleeping in! One reward I can use is a choice of Mixed Berry or Strawberry Eggo Real Fruit Pizza.

I guess you can tell that we really enjoyed the yummy goodness of both of the Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas. We love Eggo Waffles and were expecting fruit on a waffle, but this is even better. The granola is toasted so it has a bit of a crunch to it and because the fruit is real, it has a delicious sweetness to it. And you can have the chance to win some of your own to try out.

Giveaway: Five lucky readers of Brain Foggles will each receive both the Strawberry Granola and Mixed Berry Granola Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas!

    Proflowers Gift Basket Review

    July 10th, 2010

Proflowers does not just sell flowers in fact there’s an entire assortment of gift baskets, plants, cakes, wine, teddy bears and lots more. I was given the chance to review a birthday gift basket. Of course I chose one of my all time favorite things ever, chocolate – the Ghiarardelli Chocolate Basket. What a joy!

    Inside the basket you’ll find:

  • 2 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Squares with Mint Filling
  • 2 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Squares with Caramel Filling
  • 3 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Squares
  • 3 Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Squares
  • Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Bar with Caramel Filling
  • 2 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Bars
  • 2 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Bars with Mint Filling
  • Red Coffee Mug
  • 2 (.85 oz.) Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Hot Chocolate
  • 2 oz. Ghirardelli Ground Coffee
  • 4.4 oz. Ghirardelli Masterpiece Collection
  • Of course, the chocolate is delicious. There’s enough to keep me happy for days. My husband says the coffee is out of this world and he’s not waiting to treat himself to it. The coffee mug is huge! I can even use it as a soup mug. The basket itself is fantastic. It’s not one of those cheap baskets that will bend when you put a few things in it. It’s quite heavy and the handles are sturdy. I’ll be reusing this basket as a bread basket.

All this for only $49.98. You can ship any of the items from Proflowers next day or a specific date in the future and it is guaranteed to arrive on the date you select. Standard shipping is $9.99 and there is a lot of detail on the shipping process. For example, it’s recommended to ship the basket when someone will be there to accept the item. No one wants melted chocolate, right?

Choosing a gift from Proflowers is easy. There’s a huge selection. The website is simple to use and you can call their customer service phone number for any questions. The packaging of the items is lovely too. I’d be happy to receive a Proflowers gift basket!
