We’re in back to school mode and next on our our agenda is shopping for clothes. Even though my daughter has shorts and tops that we bought over the summer, she thinks that she needs new clothes for school. Being a frugal mom and really watching our pennies, I’ll give in…a bit. We go shopping with a list, but I allow her to buy one unplanned outfit and only buy clothing on sale.

After all in middle school, children are judged by their appearance.  My daughter has been so good about avoiding the need to fit in, but she’s been out of school because of health problems since before summer break. You price your own items, so you know exactly what they are selling for.  Just register for a consignor number, make your tags, tag your items and then drop them off for inspection on Tuesday, March 1st, between 1pm and 7pm or Wednesday, March 2nd between 8am and 10:30am.

Shoppers – Shopping starts on March 3rd at 9 AM at the Tampa Bay Baptist Conference Center. Be there early for first dibs on the varied items that you need and want!

Pre-Sale Information – You can shop for free at the pre-sale event on March 2nd from 4 – 6 PM,  if are pregnant with your first child, have had your first child in the past 12 months, have adopted your first child in the past 12 months, are a foster parent, have not attended a First-time mom pre-sale at any previous JBF Tampa events, are the member of a military family.

Volunteers – Have your consignment fee waived and earn more money on your sales when you volunteer. Instead of 65%, you’ll earn 70%, plus you’ll get to shop before anyone else, even before the Pre-Sale event:

• 12-hour Volunteers – volunteer 3 or more shifts – Shop at 12:00pm on Wednesday, March 2nd
• 8-hour Volunteers – volunteer 2 or more shifts- Shop at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2nd
• 4-hour Volunteers – volunteer 1 or more shifts -Shop at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011.

My Review – I have been both a seller and buyer at JFB North Tampa for the past 2 years. There items for sale are good quality since they are inspected before they hit the sales floor. Many items are brand new. The prices are fantastic! As a seller, I’ve made good money each time. I do volunteer and it is a fun atmosphere. If you’re there for 4 hours, you’ll get some food and of course a break. Expect to meet friendly people and watch the time fly by. I have to admit that I chose to brag about my blog with my shirt from Fibers.com – it’s pretty obvious to see from the photo. But it’s a way to advertise, especially when I’m attending a conference. You can do it more subtly, since you can add your own wording instead of using a template like I did. When you design a t-shirt, chose from over 400 fonts, add clipart provided by Fibers.com or your own image. You can even draw directly on your shirt. There’s even popular designs that you can customize.

I chose the I Heart T-Shirts on a Junior Fit Ringer shirt. I was able to decide on the colors of the shirt and the font used on the template. There are many variations of the heart image including a camouflage colored heart, a heart with speakers around it and a real heart.

My Review

My Fibers.com t-shirt came out just like I wanted it. It was easy to design by following the steps on the site. Not only are there tons of font choices, but I was able to move the wording around in arc, banner, etc. My shirt is 100% cotton and soft. Do read the size chart as some of the shirts are sized small. This is one of them, so I ordered a size larger. It fits well and I’m proud to wear it.

The cost of your shirt is determined by the type, color and size of  your shirt. Adding a design to the back of your shirt will increase the price as well.

But no matter what, I’ll have her jacket, heavy pants, long sleeve shirt and gloves ready for her. And I’ll be a mean mom and get her off to school dressed properly. There’s no thanks for mean moms. There’s pouts, tears and angry outbursts instead.

There’s the hope that later on, maybe when your child is in their late 20′s or has children of their own, that they realize being a mean mom is done out of love and concern. And I’ll hear a thank you, or you were right.

I had a hard time finding two items from Fresh Produce Clothing because I want a lot! Who can resist colorful sportswear that can be worn at the beach or dressed up for a night on the town? I live for comfort and found it at Fresh Produce.

I finally decided on the Bombay Blooms Jersey Tiered Skirt in Pink Sapphire, which is 100% cotton jersey skirt with a stretch rib cotton & Spandex waistband. I can wear this over my bathing suit, or dress it up with my higher heeled shoes for date night. Next I chose the Basic 3/4 Sleeve Logo Top in White, which has an adorable pocket on the sleeve.  This goes perfectly with my new skirt but can be worn with jeans or shorts.

And here I am in my modeling debut wearing the gorgeous top and skirt from Fresh Produce. Too bad Shawn was ready for bed because I was ready to go out and hit the town!

Even though it seems that Fresh Produce only has summer clothing, you can find fall fashion as well. There’s jackets, sweatshirts and cardigans, all great for layering.
