• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Expanding My Blogging Horizons with eLiving Media

    August 12th, 2010

When my friend Lori Falcon put out word that she was starting a new blog, eLiving Media and wanted co-authors, I immediately jumped at the chance. She knows that I want to expand my blogging horizons by working with brands that I believe in and by writing more personal stories.

Lori’s a true friend who offers advice and brings me up when I’m feeling off kilter. We’ve known each other for about 3 years.  Her blogs are fun to read, with eye catching photos. eLiving Media is a blog that provides lifestyle content. I’m providing Healthy Living posts and feel that I can let my hair down. Today I wrote about having fun in my life.

You’ll find posts about sports, technology, dating and photography from a group of wonderful bloggers who are also expanding their horizons. Check out eLiving Media and read something that will make you think, laugh and learn. Don’t forget to join the forum where you can get the inside scoop on what’s going on at ELM, enter contests and have fun.

The Five iPhone Applications Essential for Bloggers

    July 20th, 2010

The iPhone has revolutionized the world with its incredible abilities to access numerous applications for a variety of needs. Bloggers have found the iPhone to be the most useful tool ever invented. This statement is based upon the fact that they can add posts to their sites any time they have a fresh idea or see something that strikes their passion for writing. Based on feedback from most bloggers around the world, below are a few applications for the iPhone that have made blogging easier than it already was.

    1. Google Reader

Keeping up to date on the occurrences of the world is essential for blogging professionals. Traveling to multiple websites for breaking news and key articles has been condensed with the use of the Google Reader application. Based upon an initial sign up via Google’s website, feeds can been updated instantaneously and read at anytime day or night. Multiple feeds can be collected in Google reader and easily connected to any Gmail account or blogging website.

    2. WordPress

This application has the ability to write, edit and read any document easily as you would with the use of a word processor on a normal computer. The additional bonus parts of WordPress is that it is easily configured to sync with most blogging websites on the internet and has the ability to grab iPhone pictures and post to websites.

    3. EverNote

This application can be considered the “tape recorder” of the new generation. This cleaver tool allows you to record voice, use a notepad for scribbling down quick ideas that you have no time to work on at the moment and import all ideas directly into your home computers. EverNote is an excellent tool for part time bloggers who can capture their ideas quickly on the go and then later place them into an excellent piece for their site.

    4. ShoZu

This application is an excellent piece that allows you to consolidate all of your blogging essentials into one location. With quick links and up to the minute updates from all of your blogging websites, such as blogger or Facebook, this application allows for you to keep track of any feedback you are receiving as well as reply immediately. The main consensus from blogging professionals is that ShoZu keeps you up to speed on your updates and feedback and is necessary for up to the minute updates to your sites.

    5. Analytics App

This is the key application for bloggers to determine what their blogs and websites are doing on a daily basis. With the ability to function with a multitude of websites, this application can keep you current on the amount of visits your site is experiencing as well as the amount of money your site is generating through ads your site sponsors. Most iPhones owned by blogging professionals will have this application on the first page for immediate access in the morning and evening.

When she’s not blogging from her iPhone, Louise Baker is a freelance writer. She currently writes about online degrees for Zen College Life. Her most recent article is about the University of Phoenix.

Blogmania April 30th Blog Giveaway Event

    April 26th, 2010
    BLOGMANIA

The following article is reposted on behalf of Between the Pages.

We want all of our visiting guests in our first Blogmania Event scheduled for April 30th to Get On Their Marks-Get Set…

It’s not time to go yet, but if you want to have the most fun and scoop up as much loot as possible, here are a few Early Bird Reminders to help you do just that.

    1. Be at any of the blogs participating in the Blogmania Event as early as possible on April 30th. The easiest way to find a Blogmania Blog is to look for the Blogmania Badge.

    2. This is an international event, so understand that there will be some differences in time zones. My advice is to start early and stay late to catch all the blogs.

    3. Each blog will have their own giveaway requirements. Read them carefully, follow through, and then move on as quickly as possible. If you run across a blog that you really like and want to spend some time exploring, copy their URL and then visit them after Blogmania is over.

    4. We will have a 100+ blogs for you to visit. Each one will post their number like this. ( This is blog 121 of 123) This is to help you keep track of which blogs you’ve visited, and which ones you still need to reach. I’d suggest that you prepare a blog sheet which is numbered from 1 – 123, then mark off each numbered blog as you visit them.

    5. All blog links provided will also have a number like (Blog 89 of 100). Look for the blogs that you haven’t yet visited and follow those links until you’ve checked off all the blogs on your sheet.

    6. We have all types of blogs participating in Blogmania, which means that the range of items in their giveaways are diverse. I have previewed many and they are awesome.

    7. Why not contact a friend and partner up?  Compare notes, share loot, or organize your own friendly neighborhood Blogmania Competition.

    8. On April 30th, I’ll post a few of the other blogs taking part so you can join them too.

    9. My sneak peek of my giveaway for the day is that it’s a $50 Gift Certificate!

    10. Go to the Blogmania Facebook page to learn more and some of the other blogs taking part.

This is our first Blogmania Event, but it isn’t our last. Blogmania is a bi-yearly Giveaway Extravaganza. In fact, our next Blogmania Event will start September 15th, and do we have some cool stuff planned for you! So keep in touch with our Blogmania Blogs, because they will be giving sneak previews, secret codes, and who knows what else in the weeks and months ahead.
