Adios Irma! & A List of Charities For Donating

The last two weeks have been so crazy thanks to Hurricane Irma. At the beginning of the week we were cleaning out Ben's workshop trying to make room to house a number of family and friends fleeing Irma's path. Then suddenly Irma's path changed. Our evacuating guests were no longer evacuating. In fact, we were predicted to have worse weather here in the mountains. I got a phone call on Friday morning from a friend planning to stay with us. His family made it half way up the state and decided to turn around and go home because they didn't want to face the weather here! We spent the weekend … [Read more...]

That's hitting me especially hard now that my last baby is closer to 3 than 2. When Ben and I were newlyweds in our very early 20's we would often sit down and discuss our "family plan". There were talks about how many kids we wanted to have. We began planning for 3, but knowing that there has only been 1 boy in each … [Read more...]

But how many people truly know and understand that you do not have to be falling down drunk to be too intoxicated to drive? So that is my message to you today: Buzzed driving IS the same thing as drunk driving. You can still get arrested, you can still get fined, and you CAN still injure or kill someone if you pick up those keys after you have had a couple of drinks. The holidays are a time to celebrate with friends and … [Read more...]
