Raising Arrows: “Like Arrows” Movie Review

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

-Psalm 127:4

If you follow Brainfoggles on Facebook, last night I posted I was watching a pre-screening of the new FamilyLife movie, Like Arrows. I was so moved by the movie I wanted to immediately hop over here to share my thoughts, but my own little arrows had other plans and needed my full attention.

Like Arrows Family Life

Throughout the day today, my thoughts have returned to specific parts of the movie that really reached me. The truth is, I have been struggling in my own parenting journey lately, and Like Arrows turned out to be exactly what I needed to see in this moment of life. When I sat down to watch Like Arrows, I was expecting a storyline along the same as many other Christian family movies I have watched in the past. Instead, I found a movie that justified that I’m doing the right thing by raising my children from a Biblical perspective, even if the journey isn’t always easy. This movie was reassuring, gave me hope, and a new perspective on some of the issues I have been dealing with as I struggle to parent my own children.

About The Film, Like Arrows:

Like Arrows is executive produced by Alex and Stephen Kendrick, and FamilyLife’s Dennis and Barbara Rainey and Bob Lepine. Like Arrows casts a powerful vision for parents, reminding us that nothing is more important for any family than to have God and His Word directing our lives. The film will release as part of a significant new parenting initiative called FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting™, which will also include a free online video series and an eight-session small group series.

Like Arrows will only be available in theaters on May 1 and May 3. It will show in over 800 theaters, but this is NOT a nationwide event. Use the ticket finder to see if it will be playing near you.

Want to find out more about FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting free online video series or eight-session small group series (perfect for church parenting groups)? This video tells all about it!

Parents, no matter your age or the age of your children, if you’re looking for a great Christian parenting movie you can relate to, I highly recommend watching Like Arrows. You won’t be disappointed!
