How I Repaired My Car’s Paint Without Spending a Fortune { Chipex Giveaway }

While Ben and I were traveling down the “motor mile” today I couldn’t miss all the shiny new cars lining the sides of the road. There are dealerships full of just about any new car you could want, but me? I’m perfectly happy with my car. My Chevy Trailblazer may be considered old to some, it’s a 2002, but I love that car even with all its quirks.

There are plenty of dents, dings, and scratches from 14 years on the road, many of which were already there when I bought the car. My kids have added a few more, and gravel roads haven’t been very kind, either. The white scratches are so obvious against my black paint, and I cringe every time I look at them. I would love a new paint job, but it’s not affordable right now. So, last weekend I gave the ‘Ole TB a makeover of sorts with a Chipex Touch Up Paint Kit.

In just a few easy steps the huge scratch on my driver’s door went from a huge glaring white mark to barely noticeable.

Can you still see the spot? Yes, but is it much better? Absolutely! I am so happy with the results, and I can’t wait to touch up the rest of my car when I have time…preferably when the kids aren’t in the mood to “help”.

The Chipex Touch Up Paint Kit is color coded to be an exact match with your car’s paint. In fact, Chipex provides a 100% Color Match Guarantee.

The instructions are super easy to follow, and fixing scratches is a piece of cake with the 3 part system. First, clean the area to be repaired. As you can see in the “before” photo, my car was super dirty from gravel roads. Then a 3 stage system is applied to complete the repair.

Stage 1- Paint

Stage 2- Blend

Stage 3- Polish

It really is that simple! I’m so happy with how my repair turned out.

  1. I like your post that you can remove all scratches from your car and in picture your car is looking like a new one. This is fabulous and as you said its instruction more simpler that means anyone can do it ==this without help of others. I also prefer when you don’t afford to paint your vehicle.
