I received a free sample bottle of #PurexPlusClorox2 from #SocialInsiders.
I have high expectations when it comes to products that are supposed to clean the clothes we wear everyday, but at the same time I want a stain fighting detergent that is a smart value, too.
Add my sensitive skin into the mix, and there are very few budget friendly detergents out there that work for me. Purex has been my go to detergent over the years because no matter what version I use I haven’t had any issues with skin irritations, and the Purex detergent gets the job done.
In our house, the stains are huge. My kids are messy and really rough on their clothes. My 6 year old comes home from school daily with everything from ketchup and barbecue sauce to mud. Her new favorite recess activity is “digging for dinosaur bones” in the dirt on the playground, so she is often covered in dirt or mud from head to toe! My 2 year old is just as rough on her clothes, and I’m that mama that lets my kids get as dirty as they want. I would rather spend hours trying to fight stains than prevent my kids from enjoying life.
Luckily, Purex always comes to my rescue, and I was so excited to when I was offered the opportunity to try Purex plus Clorox 2. This stain fighting version of Purex is safe for colors, provides a bright clean, and fights over 100 different kinds of stains…perfect for my super messy family.
Putting Purex plus Clorox 2 to the test:
Thanks to the cabinet over my washer casting a shadow, the colors don’t look the same. But I assure you that is the same shirt in both photos. Nope, that’s not chocolate milk. On the left we have steak sauce smeared across the shirt. On the right we have a mixture of dinner on the collar. I also found this shirt under my daughter’s bed where the stains had a couple of days to set in.
I followed the instructions on the detergent bottle to pre-treat the stains with detergent. Normally, I wouldn’t do this. Instead I would spray with a stain remover spray and rub it in, so I was interested to see how the shirt would turn out.
I’m pleasantly surprised at the results! There are still a few spots with a light stain, but you have to know where to look to spot them. I will definitely be purchasing more Purex plus Clorox2 for my stain removing arsenal!
