Discountrue Scholarship Opportunity for Students

Discountrue Scholarship Opportunity for Students

For most, becoming a student doesn’t leave much cash in your pocket. You have to pay for your studies, your textbooks are pretty expensive, you need to pay for the roof over your head, and you need to eat as well. And let’s not forget that your social life is vitally important, too! For the first time in your life you may be responsible for all the bills, and you finally understand why your parents had budgets. You may even start searching the internet for frugal living tips.

What is Discountrue?

At Discountrue, saving as much as possible is the name of the game. By partnering with retailers like Kick’s USA, Target, Kohl’s, Overstock, Barnes & Noble, Sears, and dozens of other well known brands, they are bringing moms, dads and students around the country discount coupons that will help save on everything from groceries and clothing to textbooks and electronics. In other words – they’re doing their part to help students live a better life without breaking the bank!

Discountrue offers so much more than just amazing discount coupons. They also have a couponing blog with tons of articles about how to save more, live frugally, plan a budget, invest smarter, and pretty much any topic that has anything to do with making your cash stretch just a little bit further. Some of the articles are about how to save more at a particular store, some are about traveling on a budget, and others are prepared specifically for students, retirees, moms or whole families.

The Discountrue Scholarship Opportunity:

Students entering college should really check out the Discountrue Scholarship Opportunity. The biannual scholarship is worth $3000 and is open to anyone who is a legal resident of the United States and a high school senior or has been accepted into a United States college or university. Applying is easy. Just write a 900-1000 word essay to be entered!

The current topic is: ‘Why is it important to take care of our planet and how to get almost everyone involved?’ The world we live in at the moment is not ideal. We’re facing issues like global warming, climate change, and depletion of resources. Discountrue is challenging students around the country to tell them why they think taking care of our planet is important, and how they plan to turn a lone effort into a global one.

The scholarship is specifically intended to help with tuition and related expenses, so the cash will be transferred to the university, college, or high school bank account of the winning recipient. While that means you can’t spend it on your rent, a stylish wardrobe, or the latest gadgetry (unless you are getting any of those things directly through your school) – it does mean that you might be able to take a little of that spare cash you’re going to have to buy them for yourself!

And who knows, even if you don’t actually win the scholarship, the Discountrue team might like what you have to say and ask you to be part of their writing team! So, even if you don’t get to be the lucky recipient of the 3,000 Discountrue scholarship, you might just stand a chance to make a little bit of money on the side. What student doesn’t welcome a little extra cash in their pocket to help offset expenses?
