Don’t we all want to know exactly what is in the fragrances we use in our homes? When it comes to fragrance products there are very few industry standards about disclosing ingredient lists to the consumer. It’s up to the manufacturer to decide what information to share. Fragrance Transparency doesn’t exist across the board.
SC Johnson thinks transparency is important, and that’s why the company began sharing their full fragrance list in 2012. In 2015, SC Johnson began sharing ingredients lists for their products online.
Every single ingredient used in the Glade® Fresh Citrus Blossoms collection can be found on the company website and directly on the product packaging.
How does SC Johnson’s fragrance transparency differ from other companies that disclose natural fragrances?
Natural fragrances, just like chemically composed ones, contain tens or even hundreds of individual components that aren’t disclosed on product packaging by other companies. Natural fragrances are made up of chemical components just like man made fragrances, and can even contain chemicals listed on California Proposition 65. That doesn’t mean the chemicals are unsafe as they occur in concentrations that are so low they pose little to no threat, but they do occur.
The Fresh Citrus Blossoms collection is carefully crafted from individual nature-inspired or nature-identical components. The components are chosen and used in just the right amounts to make sure they are safe. The individual components are then shared on the complete ingredients list giving you the right to choose if a product is safe for your home.
