Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. We spend Thanksgiving with my Grandparents, and it’s the time of year when the whole family comes together. We see those who live pretty far away and can’t get back home throughout the year for visits, and we get to catch up. We talk about the year we’ve all had, and we each share the things we are all thankful for.
I’m thankful for the time we get to spend with all our family, especially those we don’t see very often. I love watching our kids run around as we all sit around the table happily chatting. And the food, oh the food is my favorite part. I love to eat, so Thanksgiving is a big event for me! My grandma goes all out on her Thanksgiving feast, and since we’re a typical southern household there are plenty of casseroles, cornbread dressing, and baked macaroni and cheese to go along with it.
I’m usually in charge of the dessert table and make a couple cheesecakes and some pies. The last couple of years the kids have kept me too busy to do my usual baking, so I’ve changed things up a bit. I love Thanksgiving desserts that are simple and quick to make, so that’s why I adapted my favorite cream cheese breakfast bake to something a little bit more Thanksgiving dessert-ish.
The recipe includes Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, something I love to use. I love Pillsbury products because of the great taste, and they are so easy to incorporate into recipes for the holidays, especially when you are pressed for time. Who wouldn’t love a #ThanksgivingwithPillsbury?
Last year I made Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese Crescent Squares, and they were such a big hit we didn’t have enough! These squares really are super easy to make, and taste great served at any temperature.
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Squares | | Print |
- 1 can Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
- ¼ cup melted butter
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cream vanilla extract, cream cheese, white granulated sugar, and half of the cinnamon sugar together. Set aside.
- Spray glass baking pan, and press half a can of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls into bottom of pan.
- Spread cream cheese mixture on top of pressed Crescent rolls.
- Cover cream cheese mixture with the rest of the Crescent roll dough to create top layer.
- Pour melted butter over top, and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar.
- Cook at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
We are usually so busy around Thanksgiving that I know I won’t have time to cook dinner on Thanksgiving Eve. We invite all the kids to come over for Thanksgiving crafts that we can give to the Grandparents, so I have to do something for dinner even if I don’t feel like cooking. My problem solver is a big crock pot full of Taco Bean Soup with Pillsbury Grands! Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits and Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits Homestyle Butter Biscuits on the side. I like to provide a variety so everyone can choose their favorite biscuit to top. Throw some cheese and sour cream to the side, and everyone is happy!
Are you in need of a few Thanksgiving meal or dessert ideas? Pillsbury creates easy, quick-to-fix recipes designed to give you more time with family instead of fussing around in the kitchen.
