We’ve made it through the first 3 weeks of school, but it hasn’t been without hiccups. My little kindergartener hasn’t had the easiest time adjusting to school life. In fact, the first week and a half was full of tears and proclamations that she wasn’t going back to that place.
It’s not that Ellie hates school. She’s timid around other kids, and she is often scared of new situations. When I received a copy of the new Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood- Daniel Goes to School DVD I thought it might be a great way to ease Ellie’s fears and help her adjust to her new life as a student.
Ellie loves Daniel Tiger, and watching Daniel Tiger go through the experience of going to school has helped her a lot, easing some of those fears of the unknown. Both of my girls are really enjoying this DVD, and my 2-year-old watches it everyday as we sit in the school pick up line waiting for her big sister.
Carrying On The Mister Rogers’ Tradition:
I adored Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood as a child, and these days my own kids are receiving the same lessons through Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. This adorable animated series is the first original show from The Fred Rogers Company since Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and builds on the original series.
Who Is Daniel Tiger?
4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, invites children into his world as he provides a kid’s-eye view of his life. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood debuted in September 2012 and airs daily on PBS KIDS.
