New Fantasyland Update | Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 1

As a member of a press trip and a Retreat, my accommodations, meals, park tickets, special events, Disney themed products were provided.

Even if you’re not a fan of roller coasters, you should give the Mine Train attraction at Walt Disney World a try. A New Fantasyland update – the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is another way that Disney demonstrates that details matter.

I had the opportunity to ride the Mine Train before it will open to the public. And I have to admit that I was scared to get aboard. Roller coasters are not my thing. The only other thrill ride I can handle and totally appreciate is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. As soon as I got on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the fear subsided.

I was in a car alone with a man in front of me. Embarrassed by my screams of joy and unrelenting laughter, I excused myself. The gentleman replied that it was fine because he was doing the same thing. Great, equal opportunity squealing!

It’s hard to decide what’s the best part of the ride: the swaying cars, the scenery of the Seven Dwarfs story inside the ride, the rip-roaring turns, the view of the Magic Kingdom, I could go on and on. I really appreciated the smoothness of the ride – the bar that holds you in the car is tight fitting so you don’t bump around like you may do in Thunder Mountain.

There’s an interactive queue where you can play games related to the Dwarfs’ work of digging for gems. This will take away from the long lines that will invariably come when the ride opens and continue many months after. But don’t let that discourage you from riding. Sing Heigh Ho while you’re waiting!

The Mine Train is a “diamond in the rough”. (Sorry, I just couldn’t resist.)
