Father’s Day Gifts: Smartphone Accessory

I don’t know about you, but finding a Father’s Day gift is just plain hard. What about buying a smartphone accessory this year? He actually might like it and put to use. As a Verizon Wireless Ambassador, I have the use of a cell phone and can explore these smart accessories. Here is a list of some of the unusual but useful accessories:

For the Golf Lover – The Zepp Golfsense Sensor fits on your golf glove and analyzes your golf swing. The dad in your life can use this on the golf course or in private so he can show off his much improved swing and golf score. Be ready for bragging and a big head.

For the Grill Master – The iDevices iGrill monitors the temperature of grilling meat up to 200 feet away from the grill. Wireless, Bluetooth enabled it works with the free iGrill app (both Apple and Android). It is a dual smartphone accessory thermometer which can monitor two different meats and lets you know when the food is cooked thoroughly. Get out the chef hat and apron.

For the New Dad – The Belkin Baby Audio Monitor works so that multiple people can hear your baby’s cries anywhere over Wi-Fi and 3G. If Dad is out of the house, shopping, working or playing golf he can set up the free WeMo Baby smartphone app and keep an ear out for baby. He can also make sure that the babysitter or nanny is getting to baby quickly. I see a lot of worrying in his future.

For the Pet Lover – The Tagg Pet Tracker helps you find your dog and monitor her activity. Attach the device to your pet’s collar and download the Tagg app to know exactly where your pet is and to be alerted if he gets out of the zone you’ve designated. Pets should be 10 pounds or more. Include a pooper scooper.

Have you ever bought a smartphone accessory gift for the dad in your life? If so, what was it?
