Social Media Trip for Social Good #JerseyLove

Taking part in a social media trip that is focused on social good is one of my dreams come true. Putting words into action, just like volunteering, helps others and ends up making me feel better about myself. That’s why I’m delighted to be part of the Social Media Moms Retreat to support the Jersey Shore.

Social Media Trip

After Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey Shore, there was a lot of social media buzz and press coverage. And just like the Sandy Hook shooting, it seems to have been pushed off the radar. Unfortunately a new tragedy – the Boston Marathon bombings – has hit us. That is much of our focus now, as it should be.

But not forgetting tragedies is something we should strive towards. It takes people to do that. As bloggers who influence others, I take that responsibility seriously.

Social Good and Helping Others

The emphasis of this social media trip for social good is reminding people that the Jersey Shore is open again for tourists. Starting June 6th, we’ll be staying at Caesar’s Palace (one of our sponsors). We’ll also visit Belmar, New Jersey. Along the way, as have fun meeting new people and hanging out with those we know already, we’ll be bringing love to those who need it.

Watch out for our tweets with the hashtag #JerseyLove. Look for more blog posts to read about what we accomplish. Check out our photos of the progress made and the need to do more. Learn about how you can help.

Thanks to all of the sponsors of this amazing social media trip for social good.
