This is my final review of the Windows 8X phone by HTC. As a Verizon Ambassador, I was given this phone to review for three months. I am at the end of my review time.
I had high hopes for this Windows phone. My daughter, who owns a Windows 7 phone, is extremely pleased with her phone. But, with three months of use, I came to realize that this isn’t the smartphone for me.
There is nothing technically or aesthetically wrong with the Windows 8X phone. The mobile hotspot is extremely helpful especially when the internet is out or is spotty. The camera is incredible because of the large lens and the lack of blurring. The ability to sync the phone to my computer using the Windows Phone App saves me time. It is quite nice to look at and even show off.
There are more apps coming soon, but the lack of easy to use social media apps is a problem. And hear in lies the biggest problem. As someone who lives using social media and works as a blogger, I need quick apps to update Twitter and Facebook. I use Instagram and Pinterest almost daily.
My final review of the Windows 8X Phone is that this phone works for people who are on the go, those who have a big interest in music and those new to smartphones. Unfortunately, that is not me.
Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
