Flatout Bread Wrap Recipes #FlatoutHot

Finding recipes that my family likes has been a lost cause lately. It’s the same thing over and over. When I was asked to try Hungry Girl Flatout Bread and come up with a cold and hot wrap recipe, I thought my work was cut out for me. Boy was I wrong.

Maybe because Flatout is non-traditional bread, it got my creativity flowing. Maybe it’s just time for a change. But, I made my family happy for two lunches! And it’s been a long time to see smiling faces at the kitchen table.

Did you know that Flatout Bread is now available at Walgreens? The Walgreens near me was almost out of the bread, so it must be popular. I decided to try the Hungry Girl 100% Wheat with Flax because of the high fiber content and the low calories. We need to eat healthy.  After getting my package, I was off to create my wrap recipes.

Cold Flatout Wrap Recipe – Chicken Salad Wrap

Chicken salad is one of my family’s favorites, but it’s something we haven’t had in a long time, unless we buy it from a sandwich shop or deli. That’s expensive and most likely has preservatives. I decided to make my own and go low fat.

Flatout Cold Wrap Recipe

  • 1 Flaotout Wrap
  • 1 10 oz. Can of White Chicken in Water
  • 5 Tbs. Low Fat Mayonaise
  • 1 Stalk of Celery Cleaned and Chopped
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Sliced Tomato, Sliced Cucumber, Pickles
  • Optional – chopped onion, chopped carrot, cut up hard boiled egg

  1. Empty water from can of chicken
  2. Flake chicken
  3. Add mayo, celery, black pepper and optional ingredients
  4. Mix well
  5. Spread a portion on Flatout bread
  6. Top with tomato, cucumber and pickles
  7. Serve as a wrap or fold over like a taco shell. Serve with apple slices, apple sauce or cubed cheese.

Hot Flatout Wrap Recipe – Quesadilla

Quesadillas are another much loved recipe, but no one can agree on the type of cheese or other ingredients to add. I realized that I can make individual wraps to keep everyone happy, but here’s the best one:

Hot Flatout Recipe - Quesadilla

  • 1 Flatout Wrap
  • 1/2 cup (or less) Triple Cheese Mix – Finely shredded white, mild and sharp cheddar
  • Margerine
  • Sliced Mushrooms to taste
  • Cumin and Chili Powder to taste

  1. Heat up mushrooms with a little bit of margarine until browned
  2. Heat up the skillet (I used the Orgreenic Ceramic Non-Stick Fry Pan from Walgreens, which doesn’t call for cooking spray or oil).
  3. Add the Flatout Bread, then the tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms and spices
  4. Cook until tomatoes are hot and cheese has melted.
  5. Serve open faced or fold over. Serve with sliced avocado and sour cream.

Make your family happy with these simple and quick Flatout Bread recipes. Expect smiles!
