Gogobot Shares Detailed Travel Information #GogobotTravel

When I travel somewhere for the first time, I research information for that destination. The best tips I get are from locals or those who have traveled there before. Gogobot gathers and shares this type of detailed information and advice about the city itself, hotels, restaurants and activities.

Signing up for Gogobot is easy. You can use your email address or sign in with Facebook, the method I chose. This way I was connected to my Facebook friends that are already members. When researching a destination, you can sort to find their tips.

Researching Dallas on Gogobot

In November I will be traveling to Dallas, Texas for the first time.  Instead of looking for online friends who live there or have traveled there, I can go directly to the Dallas Travel Guide on Gogobot.

  •         Hotels

I already have my hotel reservations made, but I checked the reviews to be on the safe side. The Omni Dallas Convention Center had one review with 5 stars, the highest rating. If money wasn’t an option though, the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek would be my choice to stay. It seems to be luxurious and elegant.

  •          Restaurants

Tex-Mex is one of my favorite cuisines and Dallas seems to be full of restaurants featuring this type of food. I narrowed down my search by cuisine and looked for restaurants that had written reviews.  The Luna de Noche’s Tex-Mex Gourmet would be my first place for dinner. I love that the guacamole is made right at your table and has classic Tex-Mex meals. It also gets high marks for customer service. Next I’d try Gloria’s on Lemmon Street for the “endless” free chips, salsa and black beans and for the atmosphere.

Just for fun, the Twisted Root sounds like an adventure. It’s a converted garage that features hamburgers and milkshakes. The Cosmic Café seems like a blast. It’s all vegetarian with a leaning toward Indian cuisine. You can find Tex-Mex here too. Go upstairs and join in on a session of yoga, meditation or poetry reading. Sounds like it would be perfect after a day of sightseeing.

  • Attractions

When I travel I’d rather go where the locals are. Sure the touristy spots are nice, but I find that you get to know more about the culture of the destination and find the best places to eat when you hang out with the people that live in the area. First on my list is the Deep Ellum which is the party, music and arts area. Although I don’t drink or party much, there is an eclectic mixture of people, restaurants and shops. I would have to try it out.

The Dallas Arts District includes museums, the Symphony and more. It heats up on the weekends with performances and events – another place to meet the locals.  I wouldn’t miss the Sixth Floor Museum, the old Texas Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald shot and killed President John F. Kennedy.  Another sight I want to visit is the Dallas Zoo. I try to visit each city’s zoo because of my love for animals.

Gogobot gave me the information I need for my upcoming trip to Dallas. I do wish there were more written reviews instead of ratings, but the ability to use my friend’s advice makes up for that.

Gogobot allows you to tap into the knowledge of your friends when planning a trip anywhere. You can find like-minded travelers and inspiration for your next vacation, creating easy-to-use wishlists you can return to again and again.

And when you are not in vacation mode or planning a trip, you can discover hidden gems in your own neighborhood for entertaining guests or a weekend staycation.

The best part? Every page on Gogobot is personalized. You can see reviews from your friends and people you are following at the top, which allows you to weed out the noise and fraudulent reviews that become a problem on other review sites. Check out Gogobot today!
