When I was very pregnant with my daughter, Sammi, I went on a road trip with my husband. We wanted to go on one last trip while we had just one child. Believe me, it was worth it.
We put a lot of planning into this road trip to be sure that I would be comfortable. My husband didn’t want to worry about me (more than he normally did) so we kept this vacation somewhat close to home and over a three day weekend.
Neither of us had been to St. Augustine and loved what we saw. We booked a hotel on the water and had a pool. After looking at the map, we learned that our driving time was about 3 hours. There was some road construction causing traffic, adding at least another hour. Plus we wanted to take the scenic route, which added about another hour.
At eight months pregnant I was huge and couldn’t sit for long periods of time. We added in time to stop for me to walk around a bit and stretch my legs and to use the restroom! I brought along pillows and a blanket so I could try to sleep.
One of the issues we had was that our car was small. As we drove, I began to feel claustrophobic – like a blimp stuffed in a phone booth. To help me out, we made jokes about it. In fact, the humor made it much better.
Singing along to the radio, watching the beautiful scenery as we drove by and having adult conversation made this road trip memorable. Actually, the road trip part was one of the best portions of our vacation!

If we were to do this again, I’d want to drive in a car with a lot more room, like the 2013 Kia Sorento. And I’d do it again in a flash!
Did you go on a road trip while you were pregnant? Planning on one?

It’s difficult to travel when you’re pregnant, even in your own car. I could just imagine the number of rests you have to do to be able to go on.
And I hope you win that KIA gift card.

My wife and I went ona road trip with our KIA Sportage. It was part of our honey moon as we traveled from North bay to Niagara Falls Ontario. The drive in my KIA has been so amzing, we have tons of room and always feel safe. It’s 2009 and now has 62,000 km’s on it. The thing still runs as if ti’s brand new.

With a car like that , i don’t think so you might a had lot issues apart than finding out washroom in very small intervals. That would have been a major issue.
