Help Fight Kids Cancer | Aflac Swim with Friends #AflacKids

When I hear about a kid that has been diagnosed with cancer I want to do something to help them. Aflac is providing a way for you to do that Kids Cancerwith their Swim with Friends campaign. It is a virtual rubber duck race that raises money in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Even if you haven’t been touched personally, I know you have seen a child with cancer where you live. Turn on the TV and the ads showing sick children putting up a battle for their lives can bring you to tears. Facebook friends share stories of children recently diagnosed or those that need money for treatment. It is heartbreaking to know that children in the prime of their lives have to deal with a life-threatening disease.

Aflac’s Corporate Philanthropy

Giving back to the community is an everyday part of what we do at Aflac. We’ve passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer for 17 years. Over our philanthropic history, the extended Aflac family has given more than $75 million to childhood cancer through our relationship with the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

How You Can Help

But when we can do something to help fight kid’s cancer we can feel a little better. On October 9th Aflac is holding their Swim with Friends virtual rubber duck race on Facebook. Make a donation of just $12, which will be matched by Aflac, get a random duck and be entered to win an amazing prize: a family-friendly vacation for four to Orlando! (Winner is chosen randomly) Most importantly, proceeds goes directly to pediatric cancer research.

Another easy way to help raise money is to tweet using the hashtag #AflacKids. For each tweet, Aflac will donate $2. So please share this post by retweeting it and ask everyone to tweet too. Let’s get #AflacKids trending! Not only are we raising money but we are showing those touched by kid’s cancer that we care.
