Happiness Quote that Reminds Me of My Daughter #A4Amonth

Prompt: Let someone else’s wise words inspire you. Find a quote that moves you in some way then free-write about it. Don’t stop writing for 15-20 mins. Now post!

“Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

My daughter Sammi looks past imperfections most every day. She finds joy all around her even though she has some pretty awful things to deal with. Panic attacks come out of nowhere. She has trouble socializing with others. She sleeps poorly. Her joints hurt often. When she gets sick, it’s difficult and even taking a chance for her to take many medications.

She chooses to smile and go on with life. The medical conditions cause her to look at life in a more positive way. She’s grateful for what she’s able to do and celebrates the simple things.

Being Happy Quote

She loves rain, wind and bad weather. Thunder and lightning can frighten her, but she still enjoys a good storm. When a storm is headed our way, she keeps up with it on TV, online and weather apps. She gets so excited and wants to help get our family prepared.

I love her varying interests and her curiosity which keeps her amused and entertained. She loves her family and definitely looks beyond our issues!

Way to go, Sammi! Keep it up!

This is the sixth day of WEGO Health’s blog carnival, Advocating for Another. I chose to write about my tween daughter, Sammi who has several medical conditions along with anxiety and depression.
