Gas prices went up again these past two weeks. Not shocking, right? If you’re a parent on a tight budget like me, you are always looking for ways to save money on fuel. When I learned about the Fuel Network Program or FRN I was skeptical, that is until I used it.
The free program enables you to cut down on the price of gas by buying the things you normally do, food, clothing and household goods. With qualified purchases, earn rewards which give you cents-per-gallon savings on gas at Shell stations.
There are four ways to save with the Fuel Rewards Network program:
- Online Mall – Choose from over 700 brand name stores and save 5 cents per gallon for every $50 you spend. Be sure to look for special offers – 2x, 5x, 10x rewards.
- Dining – Earn 10 cents per gallon for every $50 you spend when you eat at more than 10,000 participating restaurant locations. It’s easy to track your spending and savings by using your debit and credit cards that are linked to your FRN account.
- eCoupons – Select online coupons available at FuelRewards.com, use them and earn more savings per-gallon. Currently the participating stores are Winn-Dixie, BI-LO, Pick’n Save, Copps and Rainbow grocery store locations.
- Grocery & Other Programs – Link your FRN Card and your grocery or other retailer loyalty cards to save even more on gas at Shell. The Winn-Dixie fuelperks! Program, which is now part of the Fuel Rewards Network program, has already saved Winn-Dixie customers more than $65 million on fuel in the last three years.
One of the best things about FRN is that you can combine rewards or cents-per-gallon discounts – together to increase your savings on gas. It’s possible to save as much as one, two, three dollars or more off per gallon. Don’t forget the program is free to join and be a member of. Fuel Reward Network cards can be found at Shell stations or online. Activate your card and save money.
This couldn’t come at a better time with back to school spending. As a parent, I need to save wherever possible.
Please check availability in your area for the FRN program.
I was provided with a pre-loaded Fuel Reward Network card. All opinions are my own.

my grocery store offers gas points. . .but there is no convenient pump, so I feel like I’d spend the savings driving to the proper pump. This seems like a more feasible method to save money on gas.

OMG Connie, my husband does this all of the time, and now has my mom hooked. Here in CA using our regular grocery store card at Ralph’s (Kroeger) earns us the rewards needed to buy cheaper gas. Oh and you don’t even have to get the card. You use your store card, and it deducts from there. It’s genius. I’m so glad to see more people are using it.
