Family Resort in Orlando – Rosen Shingle Creek

My family and I wanted to visit one of our favorite vacation spots, Orlando, and stay in a family resort. Rosen Shingle Creek is away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando, but close enough to the major theme parks. Known for conventions, its award winning golf course and 14 onsite dining options, we found plenty to do in this 230-acre site.

Rosen Shingle Creek Golf Course

We had our choice of four pools, including a kiddie and quiet pool, two hot tubs, tennis and basketball courts, sand volleyball and a nature trail. My 13 year old daughter, Sammi had fun in the Arcade Room. And we loved having so many choices of places to eat right at Rosen Shingle Creek. While we were there movies by the pool were offered.

The resort is huge and we had fun just walking around indoors and outdoors. While there, a number of conventions and family reunions were going on. Their meetings and parties are held at the other side of the resort from the hotel rooms. We watched well-dressed groups of people walk to their dinners and had to peek as lines formed to enter their ballrooms; people watching at its best.

Our Double Queen Size room was large (436 Sq. Ft) with lovely décor. With free WIFI, a large screen TV, extremely comfortable beds and a gorgeous view, we sometimes felt like there wasn’t a reason to leave.  We could see the lush green of golf course and the peaceful water of the Shingle Creek. As soon as we walked in our room, we felt the stress leave our bodies.

Because we had VIP status, complimentary breakfast, snacks and desserts were available to us in the VIP Lounge. Open 6:30 am – midnight, drinks such as bottled water, sodas, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are offered.  We also had complimentary Valet parking and access to the fitness center.

Rosen Shingle Creek Desserts

Dining options run the gamut from a coffee shop to a buffet lunch and a fine dining Italian restaurant. We ate at Café Osceola, Tobias Flats and Watering Hole and had take-out from the 18 Monroe Street Market. Along with the food from the VIP Lounge, we enjoyed topnotch service and sumptuous food.

Although Rosen Shingle Creek is a large resort, it is surprisingly quiet. The decor is stunning, with art on almost every wall and in the elevators. It feels like home too because of the friendly, smiling staff that somehow seems to remember you. Because of its location and the well-kept landscaping it’s easy to feel as if you are not in Orlando, a bustling city filled with tourists, and family bonding happens naturally.

Thank you to Visit Orlando who helped arrange our accommodations and to Rosen Shingle Creek who provided our complimentary stay. I was not asked to write this review and all opinions are my own.
