Skype Keeps Families Together During Summer Travel

Skype is not just for business, it helps keep families together even during sumer travel. My family and I already traveled this summer and plan on traveling more.  In fact, right now my tween daughter, Sammi took a road trip with her older sister, Alicia and brother-in-law, Scott from Atlanta to Kansas. Sammi is spending almost a month there.  There’s nothing like having a face-to-face conversation on Skype with her even though she is so far from home. Because I can see Sammi’s smiles as she tells me about the adventures she’s had with Alicia and Scott it’s as if I’m right there with her. These are special moments that I want to be a part of and remember.

Since becoming a Skype Ambassador, I am using Skype more often and learning about new features. I downloaded the Skype app on my smart phone and tablet and used it to stay in touch with family and friends during a recent trip – a small family reunion in Atlanta before Sammi went to Kansas. Skype helped me to get in touch with all of my cousins and my daughter, Alicia to make plans. It is so much easier to use Skype’s Group Chat that to call one cousin, who would have to call another and so on. This way we were “meeting” in one place at one time to decide what to see, where to eat, etc.

We’re planning on another short trip this summer, this time just me, my husband and Sammi. With the Skype app and Skype’s video chats, and group chat, I can stay in touch with both my family and my business connections. To save money, I’ll be using Skype’s GroupMe for free group messaging.

As a mother and a business woman who uses technology, Skype is the easiest way to stay connected whether I’m home or on the road.
