Learning to Use My Samsung Galaxy l Cue Laughter #VZWA

My brand new Samsung Galaxy S III  arrived a few weeks ago and I was thrilled. I love new gadgets and technology, but learning how to use them is another story. I invite you to come along on my journey, laughter is included at no charge.

I’m old school when it comes to new tech stuff: I am afraid to click on buttons or touch anything for fear that I will do something so terrible that it can’t be undone,  possibly break my Samsung Galaxy. As I opened my phone, my excitement grew along with my fear.

If you were  with me, you’d hear a lot of “I’m lost” “What is this thing?” and some cuss words that I won’t repeat. Even my cat ran away from me. I was alone. Even my 13 year old daughter, Sammi, who can figure out an app, a video game, a smart phone,  and every aspect of a computer in ten minutes flat was away on a trip. I couldn’t ask her for help.

Soon though, I noticed something – a set-up wizard. Ah, that looked promising. And it worked. Then there were videos, right on my phone. Videos that explained how to use the phone. How about that? The woman’s voice was friendly and soothing. My fear was subsiding.

More videos on YouTube from Verizon? Yup. I found them when I didn’t know how to find my own phone number. Things did get that bad. Support on Verizon’s website – check. I found a link to the manual which explained everything in detail and an online workshop for my phone. And then the holy grail – the menu button that works with everything. I just click on that when want to learn about anything on my Samsung Galaxy. It creates folders, shows my Wi-Fi settings, gives me my security options, moves apps around, and much more.  On Twitter, I can tweet to @VZWSupport with questions.

I’m not alone while I learn to use my Samsung Galaxy S III. Verizon does a great job of providing the support I need. So from now on, you won’t see me doing something like this:

And for those of you who are tech savvy, they offer advice for those advanced questions too.

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
