Embassy Suites Family Friendly Hotel

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter in a hotel. They can make or break a vacation. Embassy Suites knows this and goes all out from their welcoming staff when you pull your car in to the tasty snacks at the Manager’s Reception. Embassy Suites is a family-friendly and accessible-friendly hotel that takes into consideration their guests’ needs.

Recently I had the opportunity to spend a complimentary night at Embassy Suites Atlanta in Buckhead. My family and I enjoyed our stay so much that we added on two extra nights! The valet and parking staff greeted us when my husband drove into the outer area of the hotel. They allowed us to keep our car parked while we checked in. The friendly welcomes at the front desk made us smile and helped us to feel right at home. We arrived very early and were told that our room wasn’t ready, which we expected. Our cell phone numbers were taken to let us know when the room was ready.

My daughter found two small candy buckets and grabbed a few pieces for herself while the front desk staff told her to take some for Mom and Dad. They helped us with directions to an attraction we wanted to visit and held our luggage for us. When we returned after our visit we took in more of the hotel. The lobby’s décor was modern with eclectic furniture. It felt relaxing with lots of greenery and a stream filled with Giant Koi Fish. The three glass elevators gave the area a feel of excitement for my daughter who made excuses to use them as often as possible.

Our room was huge! We had a two room suite with two bathrooms, a small fridge, a microwave and a coffeemaker.  The extra sink in the Master Bedroom came in handy for putting on makeup and doing my hair. My daughter felt like a princess having her own room, TV and bathroom. She settled in quickly by unpacking and adding her special touches – her special pillows, blanket, books, and handheld video game. She realized she lost her toothbrush, but no worries. She was able to get a free one from the front desk.

I requested an accessible room and found it to be accommodating to my needs. Most of the hotel itself was accessible as well. I was provided with the hotel’s ADA manager’s phone number for any questions or concerns. That amazed me since it has never happened before.

We definitely got more out of stay at Embassy Suites because of the conveniences and amenities offered. With fresh cooked breakfast each morning , we filled up on delicious food to get a great start to our day. The staff worked quickly to make our food, which included choices of omelets, eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereal, fruit, yogurt and more. We only took part in the Manager’s Reception once, but were happy with the chips, salsa, guacamole and drinks. When the chips ran out, someone quickly refilled them.

The bedding and pillows were very comfortable. It was easy to fall asleep and stay asleep. We found our room to be quiet, even though we were a bit close to the elevators. No sounds from rooms next to us either.  With a good night’s rest, we were ready to take on the day.

The indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpool gave us something to do on when we just wanted to relax a bit. A shuttle was available for restaurants, attractions and stores within a one mile radius. Although it wasn’t accessible for me, they offered door to door service.  My husband was thankful for this so he didn’t have to drive to pick up some food from a nearby burger place.

The Buckhead Embassy Suites is close to many attractions, including the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca Cola and the Atlanta History Center. We look for hotels with a good location. We planned on a few choices to visit and some restaurants we heard about. Once we were there, we just picked from our choices and enjoyed our day. We took lots of photos to keep our memories alive. We grabbed some of the brochures from the lobby to plan our next trip. And Embassy Suites is on our list to stay again.

Nothing is perfect and we weren’t pleased about the parking fee, but that seems to be something you  find at most hotels now. The lack of free wifi in our room made us feel out of sorts, but the business center had free wifi, printing and access to a fax machine.

I’m excited to try out another Embassy Suites on one of our upcoming family trips. You can win a week at an Embassy Suites by entering their Get More Facebook contest. Have you stayed at an Embassy Suites before?

  1. I love Embassy Suites! There’s so much room — and the bedroom has an actual door that shuts (which is not always the case in “suites”).
