Let Go And Move On

Today we slept in. No more school for the summer and the rules are out the door. Not just for Sammi, but for me too. We’re going into territory we haven’t before and it feels decadent.

We woke up around 11 am giggling like little girls. We put the TV on and watched the end of the Diamond Jubilee ceremony. We planned on watching the whole thing. Too late. Sammi said, “Don’t worry, Mom. It will be on all weekend.”  Let go and move on.

The TV, the phone and our internet suddenly went out. This plugged in mom and daughter duo sat there in shock. My iPhone didn’t even work to check emails. I quietly took it as a sign, just another one that’s been happening these last few days – let go and move on.

We ate breakfast. Sammi started playing some games on her desktop. I went through the big pile of mail. Deadlines for work started to loom in my mind, but there was nothing I could do. Let go and move on.

Let Go and Move On

It’s time to make decisions about our summer trip, but the bump in the road (Sammi was just diagnosed with Long QT Syndrome which can cause sudden cardiac arrest) is making it hard to finalize things. The cardiologist’s office called with a new appointment for tomorrow. And my husband already has the day off. We’ll get more answers from a doctor that specializes in heart rhythms and this disorder. EDIT – Sammi does NOT have Long QT Syndrome!! The EKG was miscalculated. She has some minor health problem, but it is easily treated!!

Summer car trip or not, swimming or sitting by the water, going on a roller coaster or eating fair food, it’s all good. The barriers and restrictions may be set in stone, but so is the love we have for each other.  This family of mine, my heart, will be loved each and every minute.
