November is National Adoption Month and Jockey International, Inc. is bringing awareness with their Jockey Being Family Bear. Thanks to them, one of my readers will have the opportunity to win a teddy bear of their own through a giveaway.
Jockey International, known for “Satisfying the Human Need for Comfort”, launched Jockey Being Family in 2005. Their goal is to provide information and access to services to adoptive families and to donate needed funds to nonprofits supporting adoption. Since 2005, Jockey Being Family has donated more than $2.5 million dollars in financial and in-kind support. They continue to raise funds and one way is with their Jockey Being Family Bear. For each bear sold, Jockey will donate $3 to charities supporting adoption.
Jockey also helps its own. In 2005, it increased its employee adoption benefits to offer $10,000 per child, per year, for each newly adopted child. Through the Jockey Being Family program, raising funds, providing resources and spreading the word about how adoption can help the more than 118,000 children in the United States public foster care system awaiting adoption can be even more successful with your help.
The Jockey Being Family Bear is approximately 11″ x 5″, is cuddly, cute and wears a backpack. You can name your bear and get a printed certificate. Purchase price is $8.50.

It depends on how the agency was about records. For instance, how confidential they are with records of birth parents. If you know which agency, I would contact them and see what happens. Hopefully you will be in luck. But, if not, I would try that searchforlovedones.com. Also, if you are able to, see if your adoptive parents may have any information or records.
I think adoption can be a wonderful thing but it can also be a horrible thing. I say this because alot of people want children and can’t have them so they adopt. Sometimes the adopted children get great families while others get abusive, greedy, and parents that really don’t want them. Also there’s a few adoption agencies out there that are scams. This is my thoughts on the whole situation.

My friend has adopted two children. The parents are loving and the children are wonderful. I think the wolrd of people who adopt. They have so much love to give.

my mother and her sister grew up with a foster mother since both my grand parents were missed during WW2. An adoption could never been finalized because of pretty much nonexistent paperwork what made it through the war. This was back then in the 1940/1950s.
And still, today there is so much paperwork associated with adoption that could make my head spin

My oldest daughter was adopted by my now husband. Her birth father didn’t want anything to do with her after he remarried and we felt it was in her best interest to have my husband adopt her. She know she was adopted, but does not want contact with her birth father.

I have not adopted and i have not been adopted but i work in a school and see kids all the time that are waiting for a forever home and family. I have a co worker who is in the process of adopting right now. it is a long process but she is so happy and cannot wait for her little boy to come home.

I am adopted, I think those that choose to undertake that path need to ensure they are doing it for the right reasons and are fully capable of the responsibility involved.

My mandatory comment disappeared so I will retype it. I am adopted and it was supposed to be an open adoption but at the last minute my bio mother closed the adoption meaning she could never find me and I could never find her. It wasn’t that hard to find her and now I can safely say, I am glad I was adopted.
My husband adopted my eldest son when he was a toddler. Now our son is 21 years old and loves his Daddy, unconditional.
