The internet is a practically limitless resource for kids to tap into in order to satisfy their curiosity. However, it can be a mine field of sorts, as it’s very easy for kids to stumble upon explicit, violent or just plain scary content while searching for something completely innocent. In response to this, KidZui is proud to announce Zui.com, our brand new search and exploration engine for kids.
Zui.com was developed to give kids an easy way to search for their favorite online content and satisfy their curiosities in a safe, fun way. Parents and teachers have spent over 5 years searching the internet for family-friendly content that kids can explore. Zui.com includes over 5 million websites, images, videos and games in thousands of different categories, with more content added on a daily basis.
Searches on Zui.com are presented in a new, unique way meant to engage kids and encourage them to explore. Instead of presenting search results in paginated formats like most search engines, search results on Zui.com are presented in a continuously scrolling manner. Sprinkled among the websites, videos and pictures that appear in search results are related topics which kids can click on to initiate a new search. For example, when searching for Dinosaurs, kids may see related searches for individual dinosaurs like Brontosaurus or for dinosaur-related topics such as Dinosaur Train. Kids can literally spend hours exploring related categories to learn about all sorts of new things related to their favorite topics.
Zui.com was designed with sharing in mind. Utilizing Facebook Connect, parents can link their Facebook accounts with Zui.com, allowing kids to share exciting content with mom and dad. Did your son or daughter find something unbelievably cool on Zui.com? Share it with your friends on Facebook and show your friends just how amazing your little web surfer is.
We’re very excited about Zui.com, and hope that your family will be too. If you give the site a try, please let us know what you and your children think of it using the comments below. Be curious!
For the past five years, KidZui’s mission has been to make the internet big, safe and fun for children. The KidZui Team has reviewed and approved over 5 million websites, pictures, videos and games for children to explore. In addition to the Zui.com search engine, KidZui also offers the KidZui web browser, which provides additional online security by preventing children from visiting non-KidZui approved content.
