On Being A Strong Mother

That phone call is the one that will stick with me forever, the one when I became a strong mother. The one where you move so fast that you can feel the adrenaline pump through your body as your mind races along with it.  Your body acts on auto pilot. Your thoughts are a mess. When they come back to you later, you want to erase them from your mind. You own the road as you drive too fast. Your own sobbing scares you. Being Geeky With The Big Bang Theory

Have you ever considered yourself a geek after watching the Big Bang Theory? To me, geeky meant knowing a lot about science and math and being a Star Wars and Star Trek fan. Now after getting to know the characters of the show, I realize that geeky can mean being socially awkward. It even says so in the dictionary, but in a much more demeaning way. Love Is Not Abuse Teen Dating Education

Love Is Not Abuse is a new app that educates parents about teen dating abuse. It's also a coalition requesting education about teen dating abuse in schools. As parents, we may be more aware of the signs of teen drinking, drug abuse and of bullying than we are of dating abuse.
