IDAPT i4 Universal Desktop Charger Review

The IDAPT i4 Universal Desktop Charger allows you to charge up to 4 devices at one time. With this system you’ll have less clutter and save electricity.

Less Clutter

The IDAPT i4 reduces cord clutter. Instead of individual cords for each device that you are charging, there’s just one.  There’s no need to remember where you’re charging your devices either, as they are all in one place. In my house, we had cords, phones, game systems, etc, all over the house. Now I place the IDAPT i4 on our counter top and each item is there. No dusty, wrapped up cords, no hunting and searching for game systems.

Save Electricity

Since each tip (the area where you plug in your device) has a power light, you know when your device is fully charged. Remove each device when it’s done (green light) and shut off the IDAPT when the green light for the system is on to save electricity.

Over 4,000 different mobile gadgets can be charged on the IDAPT i4. You can check if your device is included on the IDAPT website. The list includes:

  • iPad 2
  • iPhone
  • iPod
  • Blackberry
  • cameras
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth devices
  • PSP
  • Nintendo DS

Although a bit large, the sleek design doesn’t make you want to hide this away in a corner. The power switch is on top of the base, making it easy to find. The tips for your devices can be placed where you want them. There’s 2 tips at the back and one in the front which allows you to place the heavier devices in the back, or the larger one in the front. You decide! The side is for a USB cable. The IDAPT i4 is available in black, white, silver, red, pink, yellow, green, blue, and orange. Match your room decor or have fun with color.

Tips Included

Six tips are included with the IDAPT – miniUSB, microUSB, iPod/iPhone, Samsung 4, Nokia 2 and Sony Ericcson 2. You can chose a custom 4 tip pack for $5.99. Included in your choices is an AA/AAA Battery charger tip which costs an extra $9.99. I do wish that you could choose your custom tips, or that the company would take into consideration that many families have the same type of phone and include 2 tips for the same phone. Maybe we’re the odd ones here having two iPhones?

Ease of Use

It was simple to add the tips, attach the devices and get the system going. I knew the tips were in securely when I heard them actually click into place. It did feel as though they weren’t sturdy enough to hold our devices, but once they were set into the tips, it was just fine.

Available at, Micro Center, Batteries Plus and more for $59.99 MSRP.

I was provided with an IDAPT i4 for review. All opinion are my own.

  1. This may come in handy when you have more gadgets, and the design is pretty nice too. The price is ok, but i see that’s not compatible with ipad.

  2. The IDAPT is a very cool device, have one in my laptop bag and carry it with me on local service appointments. Technology is great!

  4. Looks like an amazing device. Charging multiple devices at one time can indeed use up a lot of electricity. Well, it’s makes perfect sense to use anything that could help us save on costs nowadays. Loved the design as well. Thanks for the review.
