What B Kind 2 Earth Day is About

Make Earth Day count for you and your family this year!! In all fifty states on Earth Day, families will get outside, appreciate our planet and do good things for the Earth – and their collective actions are going to count, big time. B Kind 2 Earth Day is a project of Nickelodeon, the National Wildlife Federation, TheMotherhood.com and incredible bloggers across the country.
B Kind 2 Earth DayHow Can You and Your Tweens Take Part?

Find an activity that you both like to do for the Earth and the environment and do it together on Earth Day, April 22nd. Some suggestions are plant a tree, start a garden, start up your own recycling section in your home, pick up trash from your street, upcycle unused items, make or put up a birdfeeder, learn new ways to save electricity, water and fuel, etc. Share what you’re doing with your family, friends, and classmates.

What We’re Doing

My mother is 82 and had bird feeders around her house. She needs assistance filling them and keeping them clean. My daughter, Sammi and I are going to take on that task for Earth Day. Although our newspapers and plastics are recycled, our glass and cans aren’t. We’re going to take those we’ve been gathering up and bring them to the recycling bin and go over reminders on reducing water waste in our home. We may take on some more projects too!

You can help too! Get your tween involved (any of your children actually) on Earth Day and spread the word about B Kind 2 Earth Day.

What are some things you have planned? What have you done in the past?
