My Disney Dream Continues

I’ve been dreaming about Disney since I was a little girl who made her first trip to Walt Disney World. My parents and my younger sister took a trip from the Bronx to Orlando by train. We stayed in a cheesy off site motel and had to take the hotel bus back and forth to get to the parks.

I didn’t care one bit! I was bit by the Disney bug as soon as we entered the Magic Kingdom. Even in the heat of August, I remember begging my parents to stay longer when we were getting ready to get the last bus back to the motel. I loved it all – the E ticket rides, the characters, the Florida orange juice in small containers. And I knew then that I had to find a way to get back there.

Years later, I’m so blessed to live close to Disney World, have an annual pass and be a DVC member (Disney Vacation Club). My family and I go the parks all the time and I still can’t get enough. Now my dream centers around sharing the love I have for Disney.

Disney Driven LifeWhen I was chosen as one of the new bloggers for The Disney Driven Life I was so excited! I write monthly posts about the bloggers and write about Disney collectibles. My first post was about Disney Plush, which is one of my favorite things to collect and to give to my daughter Sammi. Being surrounded by people who get Disney as much as I do is one of the perks of writing there. Reading about what they do to bring Disney alive in their lives is another high point.

One day I hope to work with Disney to write about my trips. I’d be over the moon if I was chosen to be a member of the Disney Moms Panel. But writing for The Disney Driven Life is part of my dream too. I believe if I worked with Disney or was a Moms panelist, I’d still be a blogger at DDL.

What are some of your Disney dreams? Have you gotten to live one of them out yet?

  1. I’m completely with you! I’m in Indiana but we own DVC and try to go down a couple of times a year. We’re headed for a big trip in June to take a whole family cruise on the Dream and also spend some time in Disney. I feel like I’ve watched my kids grow up there. Truly magical for us. :)

  2. Dreaming right there with you Connie. Disney has been a part of my life since I was in diapers and went running through the Contemporary Resort fountains. Now TechyDad and I continue this with our children. He had never been to Disney until our honeymoon and now understands why I love it so. As another new blogger for The Disney Driven Life (in education), I look forward to what the future will hold. So excited about seeing you again in March.

  3. My first Walt Disney World trip and only trip for that matter was on Gabby’s Make-a-Wish trip before her brain surgery in 2007. I love all things Disney but it’s so costly for us to travel to Orlando and visit. I would give anything to live closer to a park so the kids can experience it regularly. We loved it, made dreams really feel like they were coming true there. We will be back for Disney SM Moms and can’t wait!

  4. I’m new to this blog and to “Disney Dreams”. I’ll be interested to learn more.
