Local Blogging Connections

There’s nothing like having local blogging connections so you don’t have to wait for a conference to get together with like-minded people. Usually the meetings are informal and can be held at a restaurant for lunch or even at the park while your kids play on the swingsets.

local bloggersSave Money

When you meet up with your local blogging connections, you saves money on travel, conference tickets and all the extras like new clothes, etc. Meetups can occur on a monthly basis, with online contacts occurring more frequently through email, a forum or a Facebook group.

Inspiration

Local blogging events inspire you. Being in person and talking about our work helps create new ideas as the conversations get going. Even if your blogs are in completely different niches, sharing about what works for you can get another blogger moving in the right direction. Even a simple thing like sharing business cards develops an opportunity to discuss what information to include on your card, where to buy them, etc.

Your New Tribe

Your local blogging group can become your tribe. You can help promote each other’s blog posts and increase each blogger’s social media reach. Follow each blogger on Twitter, on Facebook and like their blog fan pages. There’s power in numbers!

Share Information

Sharing PR info, details about ways to monetize your blog, contacts and more is another helpful thing that occurs at local blogging events. It feels good to give back. Why not share the wealth (of information)? Although this is something I try to do online, I find it easier to do with my local blogging connections. We’re in person, we’ve gotten to know each other and we’re all there to share and learn. Our local group is brand new but we plan on meeting monthly and adding new people as time goes on.

Do you have local blogging connections? Do you meet in person? How has the group helped you?

I wish I had some bloggers near me. Anywhere in Jersey would be nice. The only one I’m in touch with locally is my Mom.

I am thrilled to be part of the new local blogging group. I think together we can really help each other achieve goals far beyond what we have ever expected.
