Project Night Light provides Bags Of Hope to abused and neglected children in the Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota areas. Founded by Pebbles Thompson, this faith-based nonprofit gives hurting children a bit of security.
I met Pebbles last year at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. She and her family were one of the families recognized by Disney as for their volunteer work. I promised her that I would write about her organization when I returned home. Unfortunately, I misplaced the material she gave me. And with that, my promise was forgotten. Pebbles and I reconnected on Twitter, which reminded me about Project Night Light and here we are!
Purpose of Project Night Light
- To provide Bags Of Hope to children who are screened for abuse or neglect in the the Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MI areas
- To help “ease the transition of the traumatic and frightening situation they are forced to deal with unexpectedly”
Bags Of Hope
Each bag is made up of specific items that are the same type and brand throughout the organization. Some examples of the items are – a flashlight, pajamas, socks and underwear, toothbrush and toothpaste. It is important to maintain consistency for the Advocacy Centers that the bags are delivered to. The fleece blankets, though, are handmade. Volunteers are asked to make them by following the directions found on Project Night Light’s Items page.
How You Can Help
Besides making blankets, you can make monetary donations, which will go directly to purchasing items for the Bags Of Hope or something specific that you can request. Follow Project Night Light on Twitter @ndnightlight and like on Facebook.

Abuse just kills me! There are so many wonderful people out there that want kids and can’t have them. If you are only going to abuse yours, why not give them to someone that actually wants them?

I have never heard of this agency before and think its a great cause and love to see organizations help children
